This morning's news is full of the latest lawlessness in the posh city of Beverly Hills. A high profile elderly couple was murdered during a burglary or home invasion overnight.

This follows after months of reports of lowlife thugs targeting Beverly Hills. First wave was brazen daylight robberies at restaurants. In the last few weeks, follow-home robberies of people flashing money or bling or big purchases have been making news. Now a couple of big names were murdered right in their own home.

Be interesting to see if anything changes now that this wealthy "enclave" is openly as dangerous as Rio De Janeiro.

A few days ago, an invasion of a Home Depot local to me made national news when crews of people ran in and stole every sledge hammer they could find. Police have been saying to watch for caravans of vehicles traveling together. An observant person reported such a caravan of out-of-place vehicles some missing license plates cruising in the vicinity of Beverly Hills. Police swooped in and arrested several people and found evidence linking them to the Home Depot incident.

I've always said, affordable housing and refugees should only be allowed in areas where the average home price is over $500k.

Why burden working and lower middle class neighborhoods that already struggle with high property taxes or aged infrastructure? Send them to the Woke Yuppies!

Let affordable housing be built next to Linda Silverman the Principal and Eric Erickson the Citibank Vice President and Tommy Thompson who uses illegals' for his contracting business' houses. Their schools are new, lots of space, and don't refugees and the perpetually impoverished need to learn by the Example of the Very Finest Woke People who Understand things.

More refugees in Chevy Chase, Alexandria, Rochester (MN)! Brickell (Miami District) needs lots of Nannies and Housekeepers! Bozeman Greenbelt!

It seems that Beverly Hills residents would have private security with armed response.

They do in parts of the more westerly areas. When I was in LA, it wasn't unusual to see guys in suits with guns outside of particular residences when driving around Beverly Hills above UCLA. Police and courts are essentially private. When you get more toward Hollywood Hills/Beverly Hills eastward, the crime titer goes up dramatically. Areas around downtown have almost absurdly high crime rates that, of course, are just not reported. LA does seem to be going rapidly feral, with the burbs experiencing encroachment as well. Warlords will just eventually claim whole sections with their own criminal government and you will be robbed at street checkpoints.

There is a guy who posts an email newsletter in Santa Cruz for a lot of the crime that is never reported. Shit going down all the time in the Cruz, with all the homeless and drugs.

The local truth here is, Beverly Hills claims the showy title as a most exclusive rich neighborhood. The REAL but nondescript exclusive rich neighborhood is adjoining Brentwood.

Around here the truly rich live in Atherton.

Which is in desperate need of refugees and section 8 tenements.

I agree. BH is bullshit.

Bel Air is actually where a lot of mega wealthy live.

LOL! I lived in Beverly Hills (it has a 'lower cost' area) when I was in school for two years. It was in the flats close to city limits. I had negligible money (loans) and rented a room.

I have to admit I was utterly shocked at how much money was rolling around those areas, and how I didn't have any of it. The man I rented from had a daughter who was an art dealer, and he had an original Chagall on his living room wall that she kept there. Being a barbarian and generally ignorant of art, I thought it was a stupid painting. She had a lot of other really stupid art in her gallery, too, that had just astounding price tags.

Or Holmby Hills

California's crime problem is so out-of-control that San Jose is spending part of its COVID relief money to buy a bunch of license plate readers

Yeah, honestly, it's actually not hard to see how criminals get around this: Whenever they're about to roll up to a smash-and-grab, they just cover their license plates up with a piece of fabric or something; then they roll out and, a few blocks later, rip the fabric off to avoid suspicion.

I mean... they're criminals. It's not like they'll be reluctant to cover up their license plates. Breaking the law is what they do!

Color me doubtful that this will make any difference to San Jose's crime problems.

I haven't seen the FCK JB license plate, yet.

What's the point of being able to read stolen license plates on some stolen car?

A "brutal, brazen" crime wave is sweeping over Los Angeles and creeping into the "wealthier enclaves" of the city

Which party is running Los Angeles?

If libs were not so brain damaged I would think this would be a wakeup call.

The threshold of wakeup call for libs is usually about the time they get the blindfold and the bullet (but only if the powers they elected are kind enough to give them the blindfold). They are the definition of driving the whole gig off the cliff to the point of no return.

They are like head bangers without helmets.

Richfucks can always just move away from the shit they create, and they usually do, which is why the California ex-pat is so highly regarded.

Asians are being targeted for certain crimes in this wave and disproportionally so.

I wonder when they will wake up. Aside of the Vietnamese, they don’t seem to care to vote for politicians that will keep society secure and safe for them.

The local news has been going out of their way repeating this fact, and a LOT of people are outraged.

Time to say to hell with Covid policies and procedures in jails! Bring back bail and keep these fucks locked up until trial once caught! It was great that the police caught a bunch of Home Depot sledge hammer raiders, but defeated the purpose to release them ALL with no bail!
