It's going to be a blood bath. Rarely does it make national news. Especially now since it's a blue city. News won't cover it. We have the local news on in the background daily. Every day there's multiple people being shot driving down the highway. Interstates shut down regularly for people dying while driving via bullet. This never happened in the past with this frequency. 2-3 times a year. It's DAILY occurrence and sometimes multiple incidences.

If the gangs know the cops won't be out, it could literally turn into an actual war. Not talking the 8-15 dead every weekend. I'm talking 3 figures in a weekend if the cops are at 50%. Could turn into a National Guard type situation. The 90's were bad, but I think we're going to surpass that over the next few years. Hence why I'm staying out of Chicago indefinitely for now except O'hare or Midway airports.

The Dems got what they wanted. Lawlessness. That's why I pump getting the F out of cities asap. Even large suburbs. Between covid and wanting to defund the police, cities are no longer safe.

I like the stand by the union, but if they do reduce patrols by 50% this is going to be bad. I have to fly out Wednesday morning and we're getting a hotel next to Midway Tuesday night. Have legit anxiety about it. Sorry I'm rambling. Between the Southwest issue I'm on edge. Been looking forward to this trip for almost a year and now this cop stuff.

More Than 3,000 Chicago Officers Defying City’s Vaccine Reporting Mandate: Union President
BY JACK PHILLIPS October 18, 2021

The head of one of Chicago’s police unions estimated that more than 3,000 officers are refusing to comply with the city’s COVID-19 vaccine reporting mandate, coming as the city sent out several threatening memos to officers in recent days.

The situation is dumb as someone that hears about it daily. Fine, follow the science and have the guys/gals indoors vaccinated. Having the beat cop in a squad car vaccinated is dumb as shit. I think 3 cops have died from Covid in Chicago. A high school friend had Covid on the force. She had the sniffles. She has antibodies and doesn't need a vaccine.

Follow the science. Government can't just keep saying that and not actually follow science. All faith is being lost from those that think critically. Covid was rampant in CPD early on. Most don't even need the vax unless they're fat and old and black generally.

Side note I did lick her tits senior prom and banged the future wife that night. My other buddy ate her out and got nothing in return. She was a tight package at that age. She's since gotten a boob job. Still not sure how I feel about those. If a chick is that insecure, there are likely other issues going on there. Fun to play with, but definitely not wife material. Lol, forgot she stripped for us once. That was a good party. Sorry for the tangent. I'm good for that on most comments.

This is one of the few instances where unions can finally do some good.

Chicago, like Baltimore is pretty much lawless and I'm not sure if anybody is even going to notice if half the police force is gone.

1)The police officers are doing the right thing.
One of the stalwarts of the progressive movement, Pauli Murray, is perhaps most famous for saying this: "If you rip away everything, oppression is the business of not respecting one's personhood. If we want police to respect the personhood of the public they encounter, we need to respect their personhood and respect those of the cops who take moral stands over just blind obedience.
2)Thus, if Chicago fires or otherwise loses its cops who are willing to take that hard moral stand, it loses the BEST of their police force by definition.
3)it’s the PEOPLE of Chicago who keep electing these Leftist Beetlejuice fuckers to rule over them. They deserve whatever they fucking get from their foolish choices.
4)The people of Chicago who supported these fascist edicts against their police DO NOT DESERVE the brave service of those police to keep them safe from the gangs and the criminals.
5)The gangs and criminals ABSOLUTELY know that the police are going to be absent shortly. Get ready for war!

I have had fun in Chicago in the past. I like the town. But any place that legitimizes the unpersoning of the very people it relies upon to protect it deserves nothing but the tragic consequences thereof.

Fun city for sure in the good parts. It will be a war zone if the city and union cannot come to agreement on this. It will spread to the good parts. And I'm not joking that we could see 100 dead in a weekend. There are weekends where almost 100 people are shot with normal police staffing.

And I do agree with the union on this. I'm biased though as I'm going to the city tonight for an early flight tomorrow morning. If I get shot I'm going to be pissed off a bit. Midway isn't a super bad area for crime, but on a scale of 1 to 10 it's probably a 5-6 for Chicago. I'd avoid the Dan Ryan and Eisenhower completely right now. Almost daily shootings on the highway. Really don't understand why anyone with a functioning brain would want to be a cop right now. It's only going to get worse.

The Chicago PD are clearly tired of Lightfoot and her woke joke policies. It’s a very unfunny joke, which had her defunding the police last year only to refund the department this year. (Turns out when you cut down the police force, violent crime goes up.) No one wants to be a cop in Chicago, and low recruitment is a big problem. Now Lightfoot is further shooting herself in the foot by trying to enforce a vaccine mandate and risk losing more cops. This is on the heels of her spat with Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and the dissension with police following Officer Ella French’s murder. She is standing on shaky ground, and law enforcement officers are reaching their breaking point.

The significance of the standoff is not just limited to the police. The vaccine mandate encompasses thousands of city workers, may of whom also did not comply with the mandate. In a historically Democrat city, it speaks volumes that the unions, typically loyal to the politicians in charge, are revolting.

Police have always been the essential tools of the Oligarchy, which is why the Supreme Court just reaffirmed their Qualified Immunity from having to respect the constitutional rights of civilians. If they go on strike to defend their unique freedoms that place them above ordinary citizens, they cannot simultaneously used as strikebreakers against other union workers demanding the same consideration. Gov'ts who rely on them to maintain control cannot afford to alienate their police forces, if they want to continue to be able to enforce arbitrary rules upon the citizenry at large.

That will not fly. A cop can retire for any reason once he puts in his time. The city would lose big time with damages if they tried to withhold retirement from anyone who has met the time in service.

Yes, this inspires me too. Tells me that there are still Americans (although feels like minority) who are willing to stand up for their rights, and not bow.

Agreed, I guarantee the right to retire is contractual.

What if they put people under disciplinary investigations for not showing up to work because a vaccine is required?

It’s not law. Not much else to say about it. This is all theater.

That assumes we still have laws, and judges who fairly enforce them.

I'm not sure we have either anymore. Seems like a dictatorship of leftists, who can just make up things without regard to law and get the sheeple to enforce them, like vaxx mandates and mask mandates.

It has been a few days since that weekend. Did many Chicago cops walk off the job? Nothing in the news I have heard about this.

Several Sheriffs Wont Send Deputies to Chicago Amid Vaccine-Related Police Staffing Shortage
BY JACK PHILLIPS October 20, 2021

Several suburban Chicago sheriffs announced they will not send deputies to Chicago to deal with possible staffing shortages over vaccine mandates.

What ever happened with the Chicago police mandate?

I think half the police refused to submit to the jab. I think they were not fired.

But it's not in the press...
23   Shaman   2021 Nov 21, 7:06am

I think the mandate was blocked by a judge until the matter could be settled in arbitration.
