I can't speak for every labor board in every state, but openly boasting of firing employees for the cause of being vaccinated AND specifically to avoid an OSHA threshold may be within the letter of the law, but it's a strategically dumb move on his part. It WILL invite scrutiny, which may uncover chargeable offenses even if he skates on what he's boasting about.
A "bold move, Cotton, hope it works out for him" meme is my last word on his action unless further developments arise in the story.
Maybe he employed illegals and no-benefits contractors like Restaurants and big Leftist Institutions like Harvard do.

What if this is actually a disinformation or honeypot post, to populate a database of business owners manipulating their way around the (stupid) vaccine mandates? Can we agree that posting a video like this is pushing one's luck with authorities, even while we agree that the mandates are wrong, the vax is actually dangerous, and it would be an overreach for said authorities to set up such a thing and use it to enforce compliance with vax mandates?

If I was acting on disliking the guy and that was my sole motivation for what was written in the thread, then the goal of letting him and others like him come to harm would be for me to simply STFU and let his stunt possibly go viral. Can we agree that firing employees who are vaxxed is a win win? It gives those fired access to unemployment benefits and a new job ( there are tons of new jobs available out there), and it is assymetrical warfare whereby the business owners are able to continue to employ a hated minority (the unvaxxed) while saying fuck you to this fascist administration.

You can read the comments how you like, but the reality is different. I'm not going to say I watched the video if I didn't watch the whole thing.
For example, if I watched 15 minutes of Ghostbusters, I did not watch the movie. So I said I didn't watch the video, even though I did for a short period. Doesn't mean I don't understand the topic. Also, every thread on this site or any site goes off on a tangent. Not sure that point.

I participate in numerous forums, some with the same members going back in time before 9/11 to observe the same individuals and engage their thought processes and politics over time and through countless current events. Many of these spaces, especially the business and industry ones, are mostly populated by conservative Republican types. Every variant of political compass quiz I've taken over 20 years has consistently fallen slightly lib-right of center. Yet, the standard of right wing behavior, across platforms and decades, has been to assume I'm coming from the farthest authleft corner. They engage in heavy ad hominem and bullying, and in virtually every one, drive away almost all members that don't offer them unconditional positive regard, resulting in right-wing echo chambers with no counterpoint. I have strong frame, ego in some level of check, and am nothing if not one persistent mofo.

This is a private business owner. Why do you care so much? It's legal and if he gets scrutiny, who cares? It's legal. Run a business, scrutiny happens daily and you deal. I worked for mostly small business owners for over 15 years before starting and running my own business for the last 21. I've seen A-B testing of taking a belligerent stance with the various agencies that regulate businesses, versus working with them in a professional manner. It's the same as immediately cussing out the cop who pulls you over versus being polite and cooperative. No matter how right or wrong you are with the law at the moment, or how you feel about the legitimacy of their authority to have pulled you over under the circumstances, everyone with any sense knows some ways of handling this will get you back on your way in less than a minute, while others will have the same person in the same cirucmstances detained for a long time and cited for petty but acutal infractions or worse.
Like the guy who shows up randomly every few years to inspect the tank of my air compressor for internal corrosion. I've seen business owners cuss them out and try to run them off. Yet they serve an important role that everyone must work with for the safety of themselves and literally everyone in their neighborhood. Even the steamboat ride at Disneyland has the same PERMIT TO OPERATE AIR PRESSURE VESSEL conspicuously posted under glass where it is readily visible, that we large compressor owners must maintain. Failures are rare, but a "small" 120 gallon tank at 180PSI is much more dangerous to the neighborhood than a Hamas missile purpose-built for destruction. You can cuss the guy out and try to run him off, or you can facilitate him doing his job and he'll be in and out of your life in under 5 minutes.
I wrote that him posting this online was strategically foolish and may well lead to unwanted scrutiny. Your position appears to be that his post was NOT foolish and that it OUGHT NOT lead to unwanted scrutiny.

Sure there may be unintended consequences, and yet if people are unwilling to stand up and take some risks we will all safely find our way into a slow death of tightening restrictions until we can’t buy or sell without taking the mark of the beast.
