Same here. Co is about to fly a group of us to SF for a team meeting. We have to meet outside. I think it may be because of me. I haven't hid the fact that I'm not vaxxed and don't wanna be in work meetings over zoom.

Spoke with a couple lawyers today, seems like the legal community also thinks I have a case. Hoping to confirm early next week.

Also spoke with a couple recruiters today. When they asked about Trove, and I told them, they all thought it was weird, nobody understood it. My Dad works at a super liberal place in Denver, and he said even the ones who are balls in for the shot and the covid propaganda didn't understand what my HR was thinking.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the support. Feels good to know I'm not alone in this fight, or in my views.

What I would expect them to do is claim you were fired for cause - so some other reason than refusing to disclose your vaccine status. Too bad you didn't record the call and in the event you did do not disclose this to anybody, including us. Depending on your state, this may not be legal.

Sounds like the company I worked at for 6 years. The HR guy was a good egg, out of all of the Administrators or Managers in the place.
I could talk to him, kvetch about an issue without a record having to be made, and a big stink made of it.
I refuse to register into third party systems, and digital signatures and all of that stupid crap, so he was more than happy to email me document related to the use of those services.
He was more bummed I was leaving than I was. It was a mutual choice, between me and upper management. A rare breed indeed for that industry. I never felt crowded by him.

Think about what you actually know. My name? The company? I have a copy of the chat and emails from my HR head. What can they show about me besides that? A stellar review from my boss, and a 4% raise that had literally just kicked in.

Firing for cause requires a solid paper trail - must show prior written warnings and so on, or a documented crime.

I see it the same way. I think a lot of those lawsuits will be won and it will cost companies dearly.

When I did my own lawsuit, I had two lawyers up against me. One for the lawsuit against me, and one defending my countersuit.
They would start at the first of the month, burn up their contingency fee in about eight days, then no news until the first of the next month to burn up the next one. I would send them letters thanking them for fleecing their client for me.

Wrongful termination lawyers typically take their fees from the winnings. But that means they need some assurance they will win. Spoke to one lawyer today who said he doesn't know which way my case would go due to me being remote. So he wasn't willing to take the case. He did say to keep checking, but starting to think if I can't get a big non-profit to take it, my chances of getting representation might not be good.

That doesn't make any sense. Find a different lawyer, not a moron. Of course nobody can say which way your case is going to go, but being remote can only be a big plus for your case. Pay them a retainer to start with, do not go with those who only take a cut of the fees as they're mainly taking sure shots only. Heck it is very likely that osha, if and when it drafts the rule, will specifically exempt remote employees.

Will give him a call tomorrow. I've got another firm I just did intake for today, and another lawyer who said to follow back up with him tomorrow. Plus the 50 or so I emailed since Friday...

Had one firm take a really good look at my case, but they ended up passing. Ended up taking the severance. Yes, what was done is totally illegal, but so is almost everything about covid. We can't change the system from within, and the courts are very much within the system. I'd still encourage others to pursue all viable means of resistance. At least I kept my medical information private, and made them fire me, and collected severance.

On the bright side, I just got an offer for 13% over what I was making, double the bonus, and I get to focus more on the tools and testing I really enjoy. Also picked up a side gig while I'm off, so all in all, getting three weeks paid vacation on my old employer, unemployment, and three weeks of double pay.

Really appreciate everyone's support, you all made getting fired so much easier to deal with, thank you.

Thanks! It was definitely a bit easier knowing we had some flex to absorb a job loss. And very blessed to have such a quick turn-around. I didn't even have to negotiate, they just offered me the top of my range. God really blessed me on this, and my network totally came through! Really feel for those who aren't in as great position, glad I could add my small contribution to the fight.

Yup. Does depend if you signed something and what that documents says you agreed to, i.e not suing them, but I'd keep going after them if you can.

My wife got knocked out by a door that fell off its tracks in a bar, for work. She was knocked out and had to go to the ER. I wasn't there and we're not litigious people, but their FB page was bragging about a good night. They had her info and another clients info that had to take her to the ER. No call. I blew them up on Facebook. We didn't sue, but ended up with $5k. Should have been more, but like I said we're not like that. It was more of a principle thing in that they didn't acknowledge or even care a customer paying an $800 bar bill had to go to the ER because they didn't take care of their shit.

And I think it's morally the right thing to do to go after those millions.

Your basic human rights were violated, and it would benefit a lot of people if employers were encouraged to be a little more cautious about violating human rights.

Just read through my new companies scamdemic requirements, and while I'm not too happy about the mask mandate for all employees in the office, they specifically state they will not require anyone to get the shot. And they are a large healthcare related corporation.

Those disposable masks aren't too bad once you have removed the filter.

This is why I switched to a fully remote gig. They have a harder time justifying mandates and OSHA can’t force it either when you’re not in an office

I talked about this before. I won't wear them anymore, ever. It's degrading, and there's no job worth degrading myself as a human being for. Fortunately I'm several states away, so no chance I'll be coming in anytime soon. And as I know masks don't protect me, if I was asked to come in masked up, I'd refuse citing personal safety concerns.

Exactly - mask mandates are degrading, as in you fucking serfs wear a mask while we, the ruling class, will do what we please.

So the state clawed back my unemployment saying I was fired for not complying with lawful directions. I appealed, and just got the paperwork on my claim today. It includes everything, even that the state received info from my former employer contesting my unemployment. In direct violation of my severance agreement with them. Contacted a lawyer, will see where this goes as I now have documented proof of severance violation from the state of California.
