I would have moved it somewhere for a month at 1% interest

Then slow rolled giving it back, as long as he didn't spend it, there's no crime. He has to give it back, there's no crime in using due diligence and securing it in a separate account, than the bank that made the mistake. Nothing wrong with making a 50,000,000 in a month while they sort it out.
Besides it's not like the establishment falls over backwards to refund you your money you've got coming back to you. It took over two or three months to get all of my Escrow, and Insurance premium back after I paid my house off.

I would think they would just invoke some obscure clause from the fine print written into our laws by banksters to simply yank it back immediately.

I was horrified to find out that giving permission to your employer for direct deposit also quietly gives the employer direct withdrawal permission as well. So that they can correct mistakes, you know.

Actually Howard Finklestein, of "Help me Howard" fame. Did an episode on a black lady that got 100K, and she spent most of it.
Now she's criminally and civilly liable for it, she asked Howard if it was illegal to spend money you got from a banking error.
He said, the most you could do is move it to an account that pays you until it gets sorted out.

Realizing just getting 1% interest on it would be 50 million bucks. It should be super easy to get at least a million slow walking it for a couple days moving it around.

He swears he'll do a better job than Soros if they let him keep it.

How would you move $50 billion?

No other bank or money market fund would take a check for that. You'd have to wire it.

And the bank that you wired it from could easily demand it back from the other bank, which would comply immediately.

Wiring that large amount of money would probably require a lot of paperwork, too.

Buy 50,000 $1M CD's with laddered maturities.

Yes, at various institutions.

If they did that for me, I’d move it immediately overseas five or six times and hide it. Imagine wiring it to the GranD Caymans, then traveling there and withdrawing it as certificates of deposit, putting that all in a briefcase, obtaining a fake ID, and hopping another plane to Belize. Then it would just be a matter of distributing the money to a bunch of uncooperative banks with the USA government. Then I’d disappear, probably to reappear later as a reclusive “philanthropist.”

50 billion is so much more than fuck you money. It’s fuck the world money! It’s “set myself up as a king” money. And if they were dumb enough to just hand it over, that’s better opportunity than any bank robber ever had.

When the Bad guys, scam or hack your bank account. All of the authorities tell you there's nothing they can do, even though they know where the money went.
If you have money erroneously wired in your account, you have to be a part of the facilitation that puts the money back. And I don't think one bank can tell another bank, not to take a wire transfer. It's exactly how scammers get away with it.

"Those are IOUs, which are better than money"
