Switzerland's policy on fighting climate change has been thrown into doubt after voters rejected key measures in a popular vote. A referendum saw voters narrowly reject the government's plans for a car fuel levy and a tax on air tickets. The measures were designed to help Switzerland meet targets under the Paris Agreement on climate change. Many voters appear to have worried about the impact on the economy as the country tries to recover from Covid-19.
Opponents also pointed out that Switzerland is responsible for only 0.1% of global emissions, and expressed doubts that such policies would help the environment.
I worked with a Swiss guy who told me every time the US starts talking about socializing health care or controlling drug prices they start to sweat: Because they are fully aware in Europe that the US subsidizes their drug costs and that would end if either of those came to fruition.
They count on us remaining stupid as do our politicians (both sides) who rake in the cash from the status quo.
I've been to Paris a couple of times. I liked walking around, it's pretty. I also stepped in dog shit. It's everywhere for some reason. The "Paris Accord" is a pile of dogshit.

Yeah, in the 80s I had a snobby ass French teacher who flat out told us Texans that the French were still better even though they still threw their dog shit out the window down onto the road below.
Some of the kids thought she was hot. I thought she was a dumb cunt. Now my NEXT French class DID have a hot teacher, but she was American. She used to let me take money from the other kids, go down to the home-ec classes and buy brownies, cookies n' shit for our class.
