"As women have gained more access to education and contraception"

Interesting they leave out legalized abortion. Imagine the effect that the some 47 million fewer people aborted in the intervening 47 years, not to mention the births that would result from the couplings of those people, has to have had some effect on declining population.

I wonder if this is the true reason that abortion restrictions (Roe vs. Wade) is finally being revisited in earnest by the SCOTUS. Could the elites be worried that a declining population in the USA will adversely impact their plans? It’s much harder to govern a real estate empire of empty homes and weeds. You need people to form an economy. At some point, a declining population puts tremendous downward pressure on an economy.. especially an economy which is primarily service based. Manufacturing economies like Germany are still doing great, even with the decline, because their customer base isn’t shrinking. But service based economies run out of steam when there’s nobody who needs services.

It seems like even China has realized that they are in danger from demographic decline.

When I think about how much money it would cost to sustain a lifestyle equivalent to the typical living circumstances of 100, 200, or 300 years ago, it wouldn't be much. Today's people would only need to work a small fraction of the hours they currently do to sustain an equivalent or better life.

But housing costs keep people on the hamster wheel more effectively than anything else that comes to mind. The rich benefit highly from all this extensive labor.

Like an avalanche, the demographic forces — pushing toward more deaths than births — seem to be expanding and accelerating.

FINALLY!!!

Countries like India can use this population decline to improve their citizen's lives.
But this shouldn't come by Bill Gates killing using "Vaccines" or brutal "One child policy" of China.

This should come by incentivizing and educating and treating common Bhartis are equal partners... not forcing down their throats.

It also means an older population, too.

How do older people vote?

I’m okay with the people around now, billions more won’t improve the earth.

Agreed. I concur with limiting human population, but obviously not by murder or forced sterilization.

I like Fear, “Let’s have a war.”
“There’s too many of us.”
“We can start in New Jersey.”
“Clean out this place.”

It should be obvious to everyone that we are woefully overpopulated

And yet we continue to subsidize poor people having babies.

The young communists that support all of this equity bullshit think they won't have to work after the revolution and their check will continue to arrive on the 1st.

On the plus side our great cities will be cleaned of the homeless.

Bingo. Dependent status and food stamps are income to some people. A job. More lucrative to have a kid regardless if it makes sense.

My SIL gets dependent status and food stamps, yet the wife and I get to pay for everything the kid does and eats. She lives for free basically. Maybe we're too nice, but the kid would be fucked without us.

Have a high school friend I've mentioned in the past that won't get married because she'd lose her government support. Yet she has a kid with a guy and has been with him almost a decade now. So they get free food by not marrying. It's a fucking joke at this point. Government needs to do its job. Stop foreign invaders and that's it. Let states handle the rest. Adults need to figure their shit out and not rely on the government.

You guys are correct, the government subsidizes single motherhood so they keep having bastards.

I think the problem started decades ago; I remember President Johnson declaring a “war on poverty.”
How naive he was.
The whole problem I believe is that politicians (who were largely men) made a mistake, and assumed that women would be ashamed to be single mothers and living off others.
They evidently didn’t understand women at all.
NO woman deep down has any shame for being a parasite on others.

I took a female to lunch yesterday. She mentioned again that she needs a “sugar daddy” because she’s broke (single mom).
I said “If you go online you’ll have 100 messages per day, you’re pretty cute. You just have to weed out the weirdos.”
“Why not you? You can be my sugar daddy.”

Another female is doing caregiving for a gazillionaire and takes home $1400/week tax free.
She’s 45 and calls herself “the diamond princess.” She expects any man who dates (fucks) her to give her money.
She’s pretty hot still, but no dice. Now I heard she’s struggling to find guys who are willing to wine and dine her at expensive joints.

I of course know straight up welfare queens, the sisters of someone I dated here.

I do not think Johnson was that naïve. Johnson is the man behind ratcheting up the Vietnam War, had policies in that war that maximized aircraft casualties, and called off aircraft sent in to drive off the USS Liberty attack. With such a total disregard for Americans lives, I see Johnson as evil enough to create a system where we would have plenty of urchins born out of wedlock, both to buy votes and to insure a supply of cannon fodder for what he saw as coming wars of attrition with the Soviets.
