Friend on east coast said it's crazy, people filling boats, campers, 55g drums, bottles, and he even saw somebody filling plastic trash bags and loading them into van. Mad max

All three of the pictured folks are obese. They should walk (or bicycle) more and drive less.

Snopes may be right in this case, but is in general extremely biased to the left and deliberately misleading. They started out well, but then turned into a frenzy of TDS partisanship, like Wikipedia.

There needs to be a meta-snopes. Something actually trustworthy. Not sure how that can be done.

All bullshit. The lines at the local grocery store are only about 3 cars deep, while Shell and Texaco have no lines.

Gasbuddy is reporting that 3/4 of the stations in my area now have fuel when yesterday it was about 1/8.

Give it another day and it'll be a non story.

I bought three 5 gallon cans last year, and keep them filled in my garage. Our bug out spot is more than a tank of gas away, but with an extra 15 gallons, we should make it find(if we had to).

Decentralization is gaining steam, get onboard, or get left behind.

It won't be long before we have a headline: 'Gas Hoarders Die In Explosion From Hoarded Gas'.

Even so, but gasoline is a solvent. I don't think a plastic bag would be a reliable way to store gasoline. I'm not positive that gasoline would dissolve plastic over a period of time, but then again, I wouldn't trust it not to.

Ok, Ceffer, hand over those matches now. The lighters too. And what do you think you are doing with those bottle rockets?

Do you really think that she knows that??
Obligatory woman driver comment.

I have a hard time not seeing this is some sort of setup. First of all, people don't even store WATER in plastic bags.

Second, this only serves to show how absolutely stupid a "hoarder" would have to be. If I was DESPERATE to store a volatile, flammable liquid and couldn't find a gasoline container, I'd go for a trash can with a lid. This looks like a setup to me, or an attempt to get views and responses.

@NuttBoxer Gas is carcinogenic. You may not want those cans in the garage if it's attached to the house. Better still would be stored outdoors, maybe under a tarp.

Not attached, and never noticed any smell coming from them.
