DeSantis segued to the lawsuit the state of Florida has filed against the CDC:

So that is fundamentally unfair. It makes no sense and we are suing the CDC right now. We have a hearing coming up in federal court. But I can tell you, I want the cruises going. I want the cruise ships going; I think it’s vital for our economy. There’s tens of thousands of folks that are impacted by this issue.

When we announced the lawsuit in Miami, I’ll never forget it. We had a bunch of folks behind me, kind of like this, but they were all people who worked in the industry, and not just worked for the cruise lines. You have all these smaller businesses that support this industry, and one of the ladies went up there. She said, “You know, we were told two weeks. It was hard for us, but we were there. We wanted to do our part.” Here we are a year later. And she’s like “You know, there’s been a lot of toll in our community because of Covid. We’ve had a lot of deaths, but they’re not deaths from Covid. They’re deaths from despair.

The CDC is working for the profits of "vaccine" makers and tech tyrants. Not for public health.

Good. The more attention people can bring to this matter, the better. So much has been censored, covered up, or inaccurately smeared.

Here's a UK pathologist whose video I watched the other day. It's quite good. He touches on most aspects of covid and explains why the government response has been wrong from nearly the start. Masks, lockdowns, and distancing don't work, can't work. He's a proponent of the vaccines, but even that's not enough to prevent him from getting cancelled, probably because he says that life should return to normal since there's a vaccine available to anyone who wants it. Totalitarians don't like the idea of giving up their power, apparently.

The video was on youtube, then got yanked for "misinformation", when questioned it was put up again, and now since yesterday it was yanked again due to some copyright claim. I managed to save a copy, and also found one on bitchute:

But Norweigan Cruises just announced they are leaving Florida since DeSantis said they cannot mandate vaccines. So the CDC is not hurting Florida, DeSantis is.

Doubt it. Florida alone is doing fantastic as a state in terms of employment.

If cruises leave the state, it's only going to be harder on cruise lines. Think about it. Florida is within a day's sail of every freaking place people want to vacation to in the Carribean, plus people want to visit and vacation in Florida. What state has enough available ports/terminals to satisfy cruise demand like Florida? None.

So you park a boat in Charleston, SC, one or two in Virginia, Maryland, Jersey and New York. Now you've just increased costs for a cruise line to get back down to those islands in terms of fuel/itineraries.

Second, how many people in red states are going to drive to majority blue states to take a boat ride? I bet it's less than you think.

Florida is a great state. Beautiful beaches and good leadership. I think this is gonna backfire on the cruise industry. Desantis has made tough choices and come out ahead every time.

That is exactly my point. Click on the link, Norwegian Cruises have cruise schedules running into 2024 for departures from Miami. It would be a death sentence for cruises to leave FL. Where will they go for lucrative Caribbean destination cruises? Texas? Louisiana? These states will have similar covid vaccine rules (in fact, TX already has), and have less infrastructure and most departure ports are not as touristy. Galveston, frankly, sucks.

Nice that DeSantis is pressuring big business from the right, as so far it is lefties who try to force their ideas onto business.

Florida is so loaded with cruising OldFucks, cruise lines would never stop service there. Maybe they are going to offer elaborate, expensive ocean burials for the vaccinated if they don't make it through the trips.

That’s a backwards and frankly retarded point of view. Norwegian cruise lines wasn’t operating there anyway thanks to the CDC’s fascist ban. The governor’s attempts to reopen the state and get the cruise lines going has no relationship to further fascist attempts to formalize health discrimination. He’s right to oppose discrimination based on healthcare decisions. Might as well create an Abortion Passport where only women who haven’t had an abortion are allowed to use public transportation. That would be exactly as fucked up as Vaccine Passports.

More skulduggery from the CDC. They aren't interested in covid breakthrough cases (where vax'd people contract covid) unless it results in hospitalisation or death, AND the CT value must be <=28. Completely different standard from determining a covid "case" than with unvax'd people.

FREEDOM IS ALWAYS THE ANWSER.

Democrats like 2 things....1) they love to mandate things and 2) they love to ban things.

Lift Mask Requirements and let Business Owners make their own Smoking Policies.

Was in Galveston spring of 2019 for a cruise. It does suck. Had been one time previously as well.

Bahamas, USVI and PR can soak up a ton of cruise ships. Not the capacity of FL and/or as cheap, but at least they could get going again. Bahamas is already doing it. Problem is the international fees via air versus ship are much more expensive.

Cruise industry will have its die hard customers. As someone that has done 6 or so, I'm not sure I'd do them again. Nothing to do with covid. We've gotten into other types of vacations and probably will never go back to cruising again. We'll see. I don't care how experienced the staff is, taking over a year off likely resulted in a lot of career changes. The service is going to be shitty for a long time if you like cruising.

True, there were many reports of mass diarrhea caused by rotavirus on cruise ships.

Cruise ships were floating plague towns even before COVID.

So are dorms at college. Densely packed places are always problematic. 20-30% of people in my estimation have no hygiene standards. Group them all together and it's no surprise something breaks out.

Cruisers are also a different breed. They think they're hot shit because they're on a boat with an art show, jewelry shop and shows, all while living in a room the size of a bathroom for a week. Our only purpose for cruising was to find new destinations. We were the type that would rent cars or mopeds and explore on our own, no ship excursions. We had fun, but the ship experience wasn't all that great. Good for a big group, but we really haven't enjoyed it as a family.
