Whoopsie daisy! Pelosi tweets out pic of wrong black ballplayer while trying to honor Willie Mays

But that's ... not Willie Mays.

So what should we make of this?

Just an honest mistake?

The man in the pic she incorrectly called Willie Mays was, in fact, also a baseball player named Willie. It was the late Willie McCovey.

@patrick
I had hard time to tell Asian guy from other when visited Asia initially.
May be some have problem telling turbaned sikh guy from other.

I see nothing racist sating the truth.
We need to start looking at "real racism" and rectify it while we dump the "woke" and "broke" crowd.

True, as a kid I could not tell one black person from another. Maybe not Asians either.

It's still funny when Pelosi does it though!

I still cannot tell most apart unless there’s distinct facial feature.

We are not wired for "diversity".

I still can't tell asians apart and I'm asian. I picked him out for Willie McCovey, but I remember him clearly from baseball cards.

The funny part is that if you say it.. It is OK.
If black or brown guy says it , It is still OK.
God forbid if white guy say it, It is by default "racist".
The end result will be that "whites will stop caring about being actual racist"... What's the point, They will be called racist no matter what.

I have strong feeling that lefties are actually very racist whites, who want everyone to hate "whites" so that they can start whole Nazi stuff.
Hitler came to power due to Communist idiocy.

My old boss had a Korean wife and used to make jokes about her looking like all other Asians. "I'm looking for my wife, have you seen her? About 5' tall, slim, straight black hair, brown eyes."

You can actually test to see how good you are at telling Asian ethnicities apart, here:

Yep I think that’s their plan. Inflate racial divisions to keep common people from organizing around correcting the things the rich elite are doing to us. Also demonize poor or middle class whites to 1)keep whites in compliance with government (Party).
2)keep poor whites down so they don’t rise up and challenge the elites for power.
Electing Trump was the first real sign that 2) was happening, which is why the elites were acting like it was the end of their world.

Yes, and it really was a step toward the end of the rule by elitists in America.

They cheated their way out of it for now, but people are paying attention and waiting. They won't let themselves be cheated out of democracy again.

I took the test. I got a 7. Apparently, 7 is average.

My wife of more than 22 years is a full blood, Han Chinese gal. Before I took the test I would have liked to think I could have distinguished better. I was disappointed in my results.

Okay, anything good here?

I love the "have you seen her" comment.

I have mentioned this so many times to my gal. Mostly, we get out in public here in the US -- at our age picking up things at Trader Joe's (her favorite place).

In the US, in the public situations we engage in, I can easily find her. However, it has happened that we go to her homeland in Malaysia and get out in public. Good grief! Let's say we are at a supermarket in Malaysia akin to a Costco. Finding my gal in a place like that is like trying to find a needle in a haystack!

Apparently, there is an innate imprinting process that one has in childhood that allows you to see a lot of variation in the people that you are familiar with from that childhood. You lose that power of discrimination with variances in other races and peoples as you age.

I have heard that if you are an Asian child raised with white people, Asians can look as undifferentiated to you as they do to white children raised with white people. However, Asians with each other see much more variation and subtlety from person to person.

Can't remember where I read it, though, but it seems to make sense. As I get older, even white people seem to have a more limited spectrum than I thought when younger.

Yes, like those moms of identical twins that have no trouble telling them apart.

We have to get democracy back first!

The election audits will tell us a lot. If they are thwarted we know we are living through an authoritarian regime and more extreme action will be required to regain our republic.
