Briefly passing someone on the sidewalk just isn’t risky.

...I would like to calmly suggest that now is the time we should consider no longer wearing masks when we walk around outside.

“You’re talking about a probability of getting hit by a car, and being struck by lightning.”
— Zain Chagla, an infectious diseases physician

I am not suggesting this simply because I am very sick of wearing a mask at all times outside my home. When it comes to coronavirus spread, evidence shows that being outdoors is very, very safe. A paper published in Indoor Air looked at 1,245 cases in China and found just one instance of outdoor transmission, which involved people having a conversation, which means they had to be close to one another for some period of time and face to face. ...

Whether we wear masks at all times outside has become a combination of politics and regional attitudes toward the virus—not science. ...

Gandhi also thinks that adjusting the recommendation would help engender more trust in public health officials, by letting people know they aren’t being asked to take precautions arbitrarily. She says she has written the San Francisco Department of Public Health in her capacity as a mask researcher asking for more nuanced guidance for outdoor masking but has not heard back. ...

our collective agreement to mask up obsessively outdoors comes at a cost. Masking can be exhausting. It makes recreation really annoying, especially as the weather warms. It makes it difficult to escape, even temporarily, from the pandemic. It deprives us of seeing one another’s smiles!

And The Atlantic is a very liberal magazine.

There really is no reason at all to wear a mask outdoors. And probably not indoors either, but lets start with the screamingly obvious first. Liberals do not reason well. They are just fear-puppets, completely controlled by the lying media.

Lefty rag preaches no masks to lefties. Clearly the winds of government/media have shifted and the powers that be no longer want all the masking. This feels like the same sort of transition that’s been ongoing to get kids back into schools

when hospitalizations fall below a certain figure

And what figure would that be? This has been asked of these people over and over again and they never give a straight answer. How many cases per day do we need to see the numbers drop to? They never give you a number.

That's right. All of these "follow the Science(tm)" people don't have values in their equations.

If they did, they'd be expected to hold true to them. They don't want that. They want to extend their abuses indefinitely.

Just start going into stores without a mask on. Leave if a manager tells you to leave but not without reminding them that Amazon does not require masks.

I get they're doing what they were "told." You can also just tell them to fuck off. When it comes time to take your money I bet the message changes. I don't believe one state has passed a mask law. No one can enforce the "mandates" of dictator governors. No cop will that's for sure.

Now that the half-trillion a year in Chinese imports and the flow of illegal labor into the US is safe from Trump's interference, maybe they calculate that it's getting to be time to call off the scamdemic.

I can imagine internal fights among the elite, some demanding the eternal revenue stream of ineffective and dangerous "vaccines", and others worried that they may have deliberately tanked Trump's economy too badly and might suffer economically for it.

I believe you are correct but the stores have a policy to kick you out if you don't wear a mask. If you refuse to leave it becomes trespassing and the cops will arrest you.

MY SOLUTION (AND IT IS WORKING): I have been going to my local corporate grocery store without wearing a mask ever since this shit started. Have not worn it once (I live in McLean VA. Northern VA.). I use the self checkout. My wife has finally started doing it also. At first she thought I was able to do it because I look angry all the time and everyone is scared of me. Now she's doing it also. If you try this, just go through self checkout.

Not on public property though with listed business hours. There are actual laws for the no shirt, no shoes, no service stuff. I've yet to hear of any laws for masks in any states. I could be wrong. But there's all sort of public decency laws and disturbing the peace to get you booted, not masks though.

I agree 100% with your approach. Not legal advice and check your local laws, but I don't think public businesses have legal standing to remove you in most places for not wearing a mask. There are also health issues which could prevent you from wearing a mask. You have no obligation to disclose health conditions in a public space if it's not harming others.

If everyone has to wear a mask, I also want to know who has AIDS. So I can protect myself and they can protect others. It's the same logic, yet AIDS is a vastly worse ailment. It just mostly happens to gay men, so they became a protected class. I personally don't fear AIDS and the same for Covid.

It should be my choice if I want to be in settings where any disease or virus can be transmitted. I will never put myself in position to get AIDS and that's my choice. I avoid those places like the plague. If I don't want covid I'm not going to an indoor concert in a small venue. Not tough. You're not getting it in a grocery store or gas station, that's for sure.

Rare, but prior to covid I'd occasionally wear a gaiter on a bright sunny day fishing in Montana or on lakes in Wisconsin. For sun protection. Don't want the face all greasy from sunscreen. I'm not a bearded hipster type, but I do have some facial hair from time to time, so sunscreen sucks even worse.

Where covid is being transferred is indoors, tight quarters, low ventilation with outside air. Which is what the CDC recommends doing. Stay inside, then adjust your mask constantly that could have covid on it and just breath it in. That's our government. Don't need to be a doctor or scientist to see the flaws. They're obvious.

Hopefully this summer is at least 90% normal. I don't wear them, but don't think masks are going away ever. There will be a segment of the population that wears them until they die. I think the shaming goes away though which is a step in the right direction.

That makes sense, and for those doing yard work, trying to keep out grass/dust - but I think you know what I'm talking about.

https://spectator.us/topic/life-normal-covid-virginia-dc-masks/

Left-wing magazine Slate took the stunning and brave step Saturday of publishing an article outlining the case for no longer wearing masks outside.

‘As we’ve come to know more about the virus, as vaccinations are ramping up, and as we’re trying to figure out how to live with some level of COVID in a sustainable way, masking up outside when you’re at most briefly crossing paths with people is starting to feel barely understandable,’ the author reasoned.

Mask enthusiasts melted down in response, insisting that Slate‘s article was ‘irresponsible‘, ‘going to get people killed‘ and ‘misleading‘. Others celebrated the article as ‘a good sign of progress‘. A Harvard infectious disease specialist asserted, ‘I am generally a hawk about maintaining rules with a clear benefit. Outdoor masking has notable costs and really no evidence of benefits.’

Meanwhile, the rest of us normal people thought, ‘wait a second, you guys were still wearing masks outside?’

I reside in Northern Va. I went to a Wawa today without a mask on. About 20-30 people inside with a mask on. Not one person looked at me or said a thing. I bought a bag of chips that I didn't even want just to prove to myself that people just do not care.

The TV doc thing is kind of like professors teaching business. They sucked at what they tried to learn and fell back into another role. If you teach business you should own a (or multiple) successful business. I'm sure some do, most don't. TV docs sucked at their job when they tried it and knew a person who knew a person and got a TV gig. Yet people soak up their advice like it's 100% fact.

https://www.theepochtimes.com/mkt_morningbrief/cdc-looking-at-whether-masks-are-still-needed-outdoors_3787762.html?utm_source=patrick.net

OK, when the CDC is finally admitting that they are full of shit, that seems to be proof that imports from China and mass illegal immigration are no longer under threat, so the emergency can be called off.

The whole thing was just to get rid of Trump and protect the profits of our owners which they got by impoverishing the middle class.

Biden and Harris are traitors.
