So after 53 years, I have finally figured out the difference between a Republic and a Democracy

A Republic requires people to consider it their Civic duty to participate in the political process. Participation that goes way beyond just registering to vote. Voting is a Right not a duty, it's our right as an American Citizen to vote once every 2 to 4 years depending on your candidate. There is no other participation required from a Registered Voter.
But there is a Lion's share of the political process that happens in the years or months leading up to those elections, that most all Americans do not participate in. We just wait for our candidates to be laid out for us, and then we may get out and help spread campaign material for that candidate, help raise money or send in donations. But all of that is for the benefit of the candidate you are helping. It does nothing to better America or to forge the Civic duty of participating in our Election process.
But to participate in the process, requires finding out where your local party meetings are held, and showing up. They meet once to twice a month. Show up and sit in the audience and listen. Find out who your Precinct committeeperson is, get to know them. Find out why you don't know him already. Why isn't the guy getting out and knocking on registered voters for his party in your district? Why is he avoiding the constituency, who and what does this person even support. If you're like more than 80's of the Precincts out there in America, you might not even have a Precinct Captain to keep the elections honest or act as a filter for who runs on the ticket or not. If that's the case, then join the Executive committee and become your precinct captain.. Get involved with your neighbors and local politics, be a thorn in the establishment's side. Block nominations of scumbags, and encourage better people in your district to run for offices. Caucus every two years, and vote in our out County and State leadership.

Our Constitutional Republic meant for the American People to be the most powerful branch of the Government, they are supposed to be holding their hand on the throttle cable and choke. A voter has zero input to who eventually gets to Washington. And the voting Public are presented with two Skunks that have the same policies in mind serving the same Donors and same oligarchs.

Where as a Democracy, the People are made to feel that somehow their vote counts because they picked one of the two Skunks that were presented and laid out of them in an election. Democracy is necessary to give Tyranny and Oppression credibility. but NPR will never tell you any of this.

Go look back in every country where the bleeding heart Europeans and American Senators have gotten involved in other countries in the Name of Democracy. There isn't a single of them that are ten times worse off to day, than before Westerners got involved and fed them a rigged brand of Democracy. The best they want out of them is a bunch of people running around with red ink on their hands, to prove they voted. While the votes are tallied in favor of Global cabal anyway.

Get involved in our Republic, or the Globalist will sell us a corrupt brand of Democracy.

HunterTits says
All a Republic is is a form of government where representatives make the laws and even execute or interpret them.

Read what I wrote, how can you have representatives, of they don't represent you?
What I wrote is the spirit of a Republic as our founding fathers intended.

Why worry about it, since the Dems, corporate intelligence agencies, and various foreign powers have relieved us of the burden of our elections now, and made the decisions for us?
