All this means is bad cops will get hired as good cops know that there are better opportunities - where they will not be attacked by their own city leadership.

This is very true. Or you'll get no one after last spring and summer. Sure is fun to have rocks thrown at you or have the feeling of not being allowed to protect yourself from being killed.

I had a few cop friends contemplating getting out. I'm sure there were plenty of early retirements anyway. We're going to see crime increase across the county. Have a feeling this summer is going to be brutal in Chicago.
