Which do you prefer? And why?

I'm considering letting my costco membership lapse since they are mask nazis and seem to be left leaning.

But is Sam's a viable substitute??

Sams is Walmart, so it's less bad than Costco / Amazon / Target / Kohl's.

By all means, leave the company whose charter has some pretty clear language about the amount of profit they take when doing business over their politics, and move your spending to Wal-Mart/Sam's Club, one of the most notorious stranglers of small businesses and supply chains. How could that possibly ever end up working against you?

I know you weren't trying to be funny, but I chuckled out loud at this.

@joshuatrio Is absolutely right to do what he can to cancel cancel culture.

We should all be voting with our dollars for companies that stand up against the viral slime of wokeness, and against companies that wallow in it.

It is a moral imperative.

Maybe Walmart is evil in business, but are they actively promoting racism and sodomy? If they are not, that is definitely a clear point in their favor.

I know Sam's is evil as well. But they don't enforce the masking bullshit. I can walk in and breathe normally.

Went to Costco the other month and an employee told me to pull my mask up since it slipped below my nose.

I can live without that bullshit.

Walmart I can at least get what I need without the social justice warriors up my ass.

I'm starting to think the wokeness fad is fading. The backlash Coke got with it's anti-whiteness training was severe and even the SuperBowl couldnt fill all it's ad slots.

I think people are sick of it.

You're seeing it pop up in government, but they are usually way the fuck behind the curve.

I hope you are right.

Cancel culture has money behind it, when it hurts them back, that money will dry up.

Costco.

Every business is mask Nazi in my neck of the woods, so what difference does it make?
9   clambo   2021 Feb 24, 7:56pm

Walmart and EBay.

I actually like the shit they sell at COSTCO but fuck them and their membership fee.

I thought that 2-3 years ago. It has a little more to go, I think.

I think companies are taking it on the chin anyway. They'll keep doing it unless the pressure gets very great. They are full of themselves and their power.

The occasional Kirkland item can be bought on eBay or Amazon at the same price that you would as a member in the store. I am specifically referring to things like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Signature-Aller-Tec-Cetirizine-Hydrochloride/dp/B014SB467O/
https://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Signature-Allerclear-Loratadine-Antihistamine/dp/B00EXPTG08/
And their Aller-flo Fluticasone product.
12   zzyzzx   2021 Feb 25, 7:59am

WalMart and Sams still sells MyPillow products.

We shop At Costco. Everyone is mask nazis here in California. My first priority for a business is treating their customers well and Costco has a great record with myself and others in that regard. Their products are decent and competitively priced. Their customer service is outstanding and I like getting cheap gas there when the lines aren’t too long. Also when it comes to larger purchases, they actually have things like televisions and appliances in stock! You can get them today! Which is a lot different than most stores do it lately.
14   PeopleUnited   2021 Feb 25, 11:10am

Costco, unless you want to pay for a “membership” that offers you prices worse than you can get for free at Walmart.

Costco is the better choice, though I am disappointed and concerned they are now trying to replace cashiers with self checkouts. That is a terrible idea, especially at Costco where old fogeys with a cart full of bulky items does not make for an efficient way to do a transaction.

I still don't get it. Why all the hate for the mask thing? I must have missed it. There is no governmental mandate.. just a recommendation.. and it's private business that is CHOOSING to let you agree to wear a mask to enter their establishment. You don't have to wear the mask, and you don't have to go into their store... State/city buildings requiring masks I can understand backlash over. You are FORCED to interact with government.

But as for the mask thing, I've seen enough snot sneezes with boogers shooting all over shopping carts when people are sick to appreciate the reduction in overspray. Even if it doesn't stop covid 100%, not having covid boogers spray out over the groceries, seems like an acceptable short term thing to try. And maybe it doesn't work, but again, no one is MAKING you go into Costco where they want to try this harmless attempt to reduce transmission. Why are people so pissed about this?

It honestly just seems like it's because democrats or official government people are saying it. I get the anti authoritarianism, and good for you for not trusting government/authorities... Bravo.. honestly.. Also, I get the irritation with people who think of masks as a panacea, and treat the lack of wearing a mask as "unclean" itself or something. But where are my Patrick.net peeps, who try to see the balance of a healthy distrust, but a harmless optional mask policy at private business?

Again, county health orders requiring masks in businesses, especially in stupid ways like wearing a mask until you are seated.. i get pointing out stupidity.. but not anger at mask wearing itself which seems so obvious as a barrier to slow transmission rates...

Mask wearing is beyond stupid and pointless. They don't do shit for starters and it makes people look like fucking retards with dog muzzles over their faces. Only a hazmat suit would actually protect you from an actual airborne illness, but people seem to think that a magical piece of cloth does shit. It doesn't. Even retard Fauci said no mask, then mask, then double mask. Maybe he wants people to die from not being able to breathe. He's a fucking idiot.

Masks are a health hazard. Not only do they increase the rates of respiratory illness, but people are inhaling cloth particles, their own carbon dioxide, snot and other particles your body is trying to get rid of. I wore a mask last month to fly and had to sneeze. Disgusting. Absolutely unsanitary and disgusting.

Even worse, people put their masks in the back pockets - passing gas particles all over them, so now people are inhaling their own shit. Literally.

And the worst? Is going out to dinner and the waiter/waitress spends more time playing with their mask because they can't talk clearly in them. Meanwhile, all the shit on their mask, goes from their hand to your dinner plate.

I see more people TOUCHING their mask because it's uncomfortable, or they can't talk, or what not and if they had a stupid virus with a 99% survival rate, they are wiping it everywhere they go. What a joke.

Masks are unsanitary as fuck.

Go check out the videos of people exhaling smoke through their mask. It literally doesn't do shit.

Costco enforces masks in the store. I know because the pussy Costco clerk yelled at me 3 times because I kept pulling my shit down to breathe. They will not check you out unless you are covering your nose and mouth. It is not optional. At every other store I've been to, there are ZERO issues.

That's a lie. If masks actually work, then why is the death rate in states like Florida (where masks are not required) less than California/New York/Michigan?

It's a joke and simply about compliance.

Imagine a world where hundreds of years of medical literature told people not to wear a mask, but the minute left wing puppets get power - they push it. We look like China now.... but wait, China is going about life as normal now aren't they?

My 1/2 cent comments adjusted for the falling purchasing power of the dollar . regarding the mask in which most of us don’t enjoying having to wear ,although there is a segment of our population that view it as a security blanket and freak around folks that don’t .The mixed signals that Dr.Fauci has spun have added to how we view wearing a mask from it’s not necessary, to its common sense, to data doesn’t support, to you probably have seen me wearing two masks ,of which I haven’t seen . The epicenter in China was found to be at a restaurant near the fish market where a/c was running .Why is this important ? The virus lives in most Hvac systems and gets recirculated or through swamp coolers in some kitchen areas .Think of this now as being highly consentrated .This the reason why it’s necessary to wear masks indoors ,it also explains the high casualty rate in nursing homes as well as having to freeze outdoors if choosing to eat at restaurants under a tent Although it’s not legionnaires disease it does act similar in that the virus lives within the Hvac systems and ductwork . This is why the homeless population didn’t get decimated unless they took offers from our governor to come inside ,we know what’s best for you

So. How does a mask or face shield offer protection against invisible airborne aerosolized virus that's recirculates in an HVAC system?

I'd encourage you to look at the size of virus particles and the size of holes in these cloth masks.

Bottom line: you're full of shit.

Oh I know this one.
The virii do not float in space all alone. Somebody has to spit on you then your mask will protect your grandma.

At least that's what I heard on the radio.

California has had a mask MANDATE since June of last year. We’ve also had the HIGHEST Covid rate as a state in the entire fucking world. Some think this is a coincidence. I think it’s due to people reusing masks every day. Those nasty things collect bacteria and fungus and viruses and provide a home for it all to fester. The only good a non N95 mask does is to keep the sputum from sick people a little more contained. Otherwise they do more harm than good.
