Milennial philanthropy and Social Justice is a selfish guilty pleasure, but it kills them to do the right thing

So yesterday I had to run to Home Depot to buy some shop rags. They had grills set up outside on display near the entrance. As I walked by I saw a pair prescription glasses.
So I picked them up and carried them inside to the Customer Service desk, and said I found them outside sitting on a grill. Then I said, they might still be shopping, can you page them and let them know, their glasses were found? She took them and just set them aside, and I stood there waiting for here to page over the intercom for a few seconds. She looked at me, and said... "I know what to do with it, I'll handle it don't worry."
So with that I went on my way to the get the rags. After about five minutes I still had not heard any announcement over the intercom, but they were paging departments and employees. So I went up front near the checkout and found the Manager and told him what had happened.

He then said, well we have a lost and found, I guess she just put it there. I said, yeah but some people may not remember if the lost it at Home Depot or if they fell of their head somewhere along the way. They might not even realize they are missing until hours from now. And there's a chance the person might still be here. Nope, he said what if a bunch of people show up thinking what if they are Armani glasses. We don't announce lost and found over the intercom.

It's pretty shitty to know, that if my wallet fell out of my pocket or some other important possession of mine, at the Home Depot. They could give three shits if I ever came for it or not. They were all millennials, just not interested in helping some old bastard out that misplaced their glasses.
But here's the thing if it were some shoeless bum they saw on the street, they run and buy them a new pair of air Jordan's, and start a go fund me page for them. All the while filming in and posting it on Social Media. They can't do a damn thing that they don't seek full recognition and glory for it. Even when that person doesn't want their help.
It was quite common there for a while, for SJWs to do some self imposed un requested good deed, for someone. Only to have that person Doxed and harrassed to the ends of the Earth. Or they get all pissed off when the Bum sells the Air Jordan's for booze and drugs, and they are shoeless because they haven't liked shoes in over 30 years. Homeless people are normally bent in the head. Do gooders like to think they just need a hand, and they'll live happily ever after. But I'll be damned if they put themselves out to do the right thing in front of their peers. They didn't want to be the asshole announcing over the intercom, "A pair of Glasses were found out front by lawn and garden, if you are missing some ratty wireframe crooked glasses, please see the front desk."

I mean how hard would it have been?

For sure. It's not like she's taking them home.

People in retail jobs absolutely don’t give a shit. That’s pretty universal. Low pay = 0 shits given.

The employees don’t like the customers if you are in South Florida.

I’m not even working and I don’t like them; aggressive geezers with Jersey or New York plates are annoying.

True, in general. But we all know that one grocery, hardware store, Kmart type store or other business where the employees are very customer service oriented, and they get our business.

I thought Millennial Philanthropy was murdering your useless BoomFuck parents for their estate.
