Any thinking and honest person knows that mask don't do shit. At all. It's not even about a single droplet. I think he got nervous though. Between Flynn and him firing Comey and other issues, his start was actually a bit chaotic from the outside looking in. Maybe it was just media spin, but he did have trouble filling positions. So him dumping randoms like Fauci early on would have strange/bad optics I would think and caused him more drama.
In hindsight we know Fauci was bad, but I also can't blame Trump for assuming that Federal departments for medical issues would be above board. We found out they're not. The next POTUS (hopefully a good guy) comes in and wipes the entire slate clean. I don't care if nothing got done for 6 months. We already found out with Covid we can do that for a year plus. It's crystal clear these Federal employees don't work for you or I, just the person that appoints them.

I guess it could be worse. To visit the BVI's you need 3 fucking covid tests (one before, one when you get there and one 4 days later) AND a 4 day quarantine WITH negative test no matter what AND stay at government approved lodging. They have their own government down there, but the British have gone full retard with Covid.
This is crazy. It's a new strain of the flu. It's here to stay. I really don't understand how they expect to survive in a 90% tourist driven economy. Although I'm sure the British are allowed any time without having to fulfill these restrictions.
