#compassion Today I want to share with you a story about compassion and decency that is very relevant today. In April of 1990, I moved from Pasadena, California, to Johannesburg, South Africa. I had a job offer. I went to see my employer. The job fell through. I was in a strange city halfway around the world with many people who spoke strange languages. This was before internet job searches. I did it the old-fashioned way. I got in the Yellow Pages and found "Import/Export Firms." There were 150 in Johannesburg. I called all 150 companies. I got a bunch of turn downs. I did get an interview with Bahmann International Trading in the Johannesburg suburbs.
I borrowed my landlord's car. I drove out to the interview in the suburd of Midrand. I was brought into the office of Ulli Bahmann. He was German. He had built quite a company importing truck and auto parts for Mercedes. He was also a defense contractor for military vehicles. Uli told me that he wanted to start an export division. At the end of the interview, I was hired and given a decent job offer that included a company car (3-series BMW.) I got a work permit and a residence permit for South Africa.
South African companies had a unique aspect to their culture. A pub (drinking establishment) was always on the company property. At the end of the workday, employees were allowed to go to the pub and have a drink or two. It was a time to relax and compare notes on what had happened at work that day.
As I enjoyed these pub meetings a fascinating story emerged about my fellow employees. All had been young boys at the end of World War II. They were occupied by the US Army. To the last man, these people praised the US soldiers for their kindness and generosity. These invaders kept people fed, rebuilt schools, fixed roads, and got people back to work. The US Army provided health care to the German population. All these men had deep admiration for Americans.
In 1998, I was dating a woman from Tokyo, Japan. She lived at a hotel for Japanese women on Sutter Street in San Francisco. Several of the women told me similar stories about how the US Army had treated their families when they occupied Japan. These women had deep admiration for Americans.
Right now, we are in the middle of a disaster. We must keep in mind the lessons learned from the end of World War II. Instead of hate and division, we need kindness and compassion. This is not a political matter or socialism. We need to:
1) Get people vaccinated.
2) Get people fed.
3) Get money in people's pockets by getting them back to work. There are roads, bridges, airports, and electronic infrastructure that need to be rebuilt.
The list could go on. Give people hope and dignity. Then hate and violence will decline.

This was all occurring before Covid and there was plenty of hate going around then. One minor protest of an election (literally small property damage) and there's all sorts of hate and violence now? Were you not watching the news all spring and summer? When a good chunk of the population was getting paid more not work and burned multiple cities down over felons committing a crime and dying.

The left is full of hate and violence. It's how they took power now and in the past. The Dems are not the party of peaceful protest like MLK. They want to damage your property and business because they can't have one because they're lazy bums used to getting free handouts from Dems. They're jealous because they can't and won't ever be successful. So they hate and blame.

With regards to getting fed, where in the hell is that not happening in America? Half the population is land whale size. The places where people aren't getting fed is in the hate filled cities. They hate their fellow citizens and live in misery filled shit holes. The church and food bank in my town doesn't know what to do with the donated food. We give it away to other areas.

You have to go to the small places where there's real and actual compassion and kindness. It's all there, you're just looking in the wrong spot and will likely never get it in big cities. Where the left has a strong hold on government, the place is usually hell to live in unless you have 7 figures plus to wall off or live in a high-rise away from the losers.

ps - Paragraph breaks please.

Why did your guy cancel 10K jobs on the first day in the office then?

The left hides behind a moral facade. They're "peaceful" as long as you go along with what they want.

There are only 2 things that will save America. And by save, I mean, return us to a place of mutual respect. And that is FREEDOM and GOD.

Compassion doesn’t fund BLM riots, puts critical race theory into schools, while dividing us by skin colors.

Ruling elite wants that, but why?

The Compassion and Lessons came from the hardships of fighting for Freedom.
It wasn't cheap nor free. America was a pretty riled up place before then. The Greatest Generation's parents were the Lost Generation.
They were a joyless downtrodden lot. Losing their sons, gave them pause, and plenty of lessons.
I think that's why the Greatest Generation didn't get a chance to pity themselves after the war. Their parents had lived through the Depression and Progressives trying to oppress and drive them into economic oblivion, then their sons grew up and went to war.

The Left needs to learn some Humility, so they can have more compassion and learn their lesson of their ill ways.

Humility comes in many forms. It can be self reflection or it can be imposed.

The violence and hate that the political party you support...the Democrats...allowed cities to burn this past summer over an incident that isn’t even factually supportive of the narrative(racist cops kill black people).

Fuck you.
