Sooo, burning of the US flag is considered speech and therefore protected by the 1st, but burning of some shitty banner is somehow not? WTAF?

With the thousands and thousands of outstanding warrants in the District, the police are called to arrest the person who burned a BLM flag.

I'm sure glad that law enforcement isn't politicalized.

If I burn MY flag, that's political speech.

If I burn YOUR flag, well, that can be interpreted in dozens of ways today. The least of which is theft and destruction of property. I have no sympathy for the moron.

Nice try. The cost of that "propety" is trivial. Besides, they charged him with "hate crime".

It’s intimidation, a sad attempt at such anyway to get the hordes of Patriots about to descend on the Capitol to quietly bow out of the real power games.

I'm fully aware that they will get them on trumped up charges. They should have been aware of this as well.

When you destroy property or commit any crime really, you're opening yourself to anything and everything being charged against you. They're stupid.

Antifa are useful idiots of our intelligence agencies. I've pointed this out multiple times. Antifa could burn down a store and nothing would happen to them, because they are the useful idiots of our intelligence agencies. The Proud Boys aren't. There's a double standard. It couldn't be more obvious that there is a double standard.

And people who're afraid to break a teacup to make a point "because destruction of property" are fucking pussies. Shooting at Royal Marines was a crime too, remember?

If you're going to commit a crime that you know will land your ass in jail for years on trumped up charges, it's pretty stupid to do a MINOR one, don't you think?

When are you going to realize it? Our government uses domestic terrorism and a corrupt judicial system against the public. If you don't fucking know that by NOW, you're a retard. This has been going on for YEARS, and I'm supposed to be like "oh my, some guys that burned a flag they stole are going to go to jail over hate crimes because they're actually protesting against the state run hooligan terrorists? Gee whiz, imagine my shock!"

We don't live in a Republic, we don't live in a Democracy. It's a oligarchical dictatorship. We've been one for YEARS. They pulled this SAME SHIT against people protesting against the Iraq War 20 years ago.

FINALLY even the STUPIDEST people are starting to realize what has been going on for two fucking decades. About goddamned time.

NEITHER party represents you and BOTH despise free speech.

The most goddamned difficult thing to do I've found is to get people to realize that "voting for the other party" doesn't work and that "the other party" isn't evil. It's the same fucking party. Don't you remember that 4 years ago the establishment of BOTH parties were against Trump? Why the fuck do you think that is?

Because Trump is a populist - you know, actually representing people. Who the fuck wants to be bombing Iraq, Libya, Syria, Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Somalia? Hardly anybody? Maybe 5% of the nation? Yet, our government persists. Costs $2 billion a day to do it. Oh, but find money for public infrastructure like build a wall to drastically reduce illegal immigration??? Where will we ever find the fucking money? $2000 per person stimulus after the government has forced shutdowns for 9 fucking months? Oh, that will be too expensive.

You have no representation, and if you protest, you're a target.

The chances of being "landed in jail for years" for burning a fucking banner is close to zero. The risk/reward analysis is not your strong suit, methinks.

Oh yeah? Follow the case.

People often see some BS story about somebody being arrested about some dumb bullshit, and then they forget about it. Look it up in a year.

Remember Dawit Kelete? He's the guy that hit 2 women at 60 MPH in his car on a freeway and was initially called a "white supremacist". What happened to him? How about the people that killed Ahmaud Arbery: Gregory McMichael, Travis McMichael and William Bryan? How is Derek Chauvin doing? People easily forget. This is why they keep making the same mistake.

I will. The guy is not like you (and me) "let's keep low profile and mind our business" kinda guy. Au contraire: he is in it for maximum publicity and political impact. Getting BS charges leveled agaist him for some act practically indistinguishable from an act previously ruled by SCOTUS as protected by the 1st is a fucking goldmine (politically speaking). It could be a calculated move and a bait for the fuckers, which they took.

Except they planted evidence on him of some sort of magazines for weapons and charged him with felonies. --- He didn't see that coming.
14   EBGuy   2021 Jan 5, 2:22pm

And in case people wonder about the importance of crypto-currency, Tarrio had his bank accounts closed by Chase last year. That said, stealing banners from churches and burning them is not a good look and they will nail him for that.

Burning of US flag was even worse and everybody who did it walked in the end.

What case are you referring to with a US flag that was stolen and burned?
I do agree that he'll beat the hate crime charges. Heck, even the RAM guys at Charlottesville managed to escape the hate crimes enhancements.

Texas v. Johnson.

Don't know if it's constitutional, but a judge gave an order keeping him from entering the District.

Even if it's not it will take years to hash out. While he needs to be there tomorrow. His best bet would be to surround himself with a substantial crowd of supporters to prevent another arrest.
