They included everything but demands for credit cards to buy $2000 sneakers and pay for diamond dental grills. Equal Opportunity Mutha Fuckah. The swanning with fake KommieKunt sensibility has a price.

Elimination of AP courses if Black students do not score as high as White

Amazing. A student does not get college credit just because they took an AP course. The student must take a national standardized test that will rate the student from 1 thru 5. Most colleges only give subject credit if the student scores a 1 or a 2. Dumbing down the schools AP courses will just create a high failure rate when those students take the standardized test. What will they do then?

Not in California. Soon to be followed by the test of blue states.

Race to the bottom, while homogeneous logical countries laugh at us as we decline.

You might want to re-check that scoring system.

I was amazed that the top schools only give credit for calculus, physics, chemistry, computers science, and foreign language. No credit given for biology, history, English, music, etc. So I'm guessing that those non-credit subjects are already considered too watered down?

What I am saying is that for the subjects they do accept, the student needs a 1 or a 2 grade on the test. Only a few lower tier colleges will give credit for a 3. Not sure why those top tier schools you mentioned do not take AP English, etc., as students who took watered down courses would still flunk the standardized tests.

Maybe they reversed the scoring system? Please see this site posted in March 2020:
"Any score that's 3 or higher is considered a passing score, though some colleges only accept 4s and 5s for credit."

No matter. I know what you meant even if your (or my) numbers are backwards.

Yeah, it was quite a surprise to me that only STEM and foreign language earn credit. I only took the STEM APs (and music), but it seems to me that English literature, US history, and biology APs are pretty rigorous tests of rigorous subjects. I recall that a 3 on BC Calculus was given credit back in the day; that was the only 3 that counted.
Here's the chart for Stanford: https://registrar.stanford.edu/students/transfer-credit-and-advanced-placement/advanced-placement/ap-credit-chart

Oh. Looks like "Stanford of the east" gives credit for some more stuff, but requires a 5 (not even a 4).

Yeah, that's totally ridiculous. Before the coddling of certain groups of people, the SATs and the APs were seen specifically as a way of ending discriminatory admissions processes.

It appears to be me that got the scoring backwards. I was going by memory from 3 years ago when my daughter took the AP tests. I remember she got a "3" in Spanish and the college would not accept that 3 for credit.

I teach AP Physics. Basically, the college board turned into a shakedown operation whereby they want as many kids taking tests as possible to maximize revenue. It's always been worth it because kids get to pay less to college. Colleges would prefer to siphon off more money from their students so they are starting to not accept credit for anything.

The proposal put forth would ensure that every single course was eliminated based on the statistical results that come out of the exam each and every year. Those distributions never change....ever.

No problem HeadSet. Just trying to keep up to date myself. I didn't even attempt the AP Latin test. I assume that AP Spanish would be disheartening with all the native speakers acing it without even trying. I didn't have any excuse in Latin though; that's my own lack of language skills.
