I never got chicken pox as a kid. I got it when I was 25. It almost killed me. I had sores from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. It got into my lungs.Wow, that's terrible. It's amazing how chickenpox doesn't carry the stigma of covid but can do so much damage.
I was young and strong and recovered but my lung capacity was never the same.
It was worse than the flu.
"shingles."I thought it was that if you never had chicken pox, the virus was waiting to surface. My mother didn't have chicken pox in her youth, but contracted it in 1986 when she was 84--on her neck and shoulder. Had to be hospitalized twice on Valentine's Day and my birthday March 8, 1987 from the pain. The severe pain finally subsided and she was able to manage by keep a tissue under her bra strap and when it got bad, an over the counter ointment Sports Cream worked perfectly. She lived to be 94 with no other serious health problems.

Life is pain and then you die and it’s over.I suppose it depends on the person's life. I really like my life and my family and I've achieved my goals, but my biggest fear is losing it as I get older and then die. I'm in my mid-40s and it can only be downhill from here
Ruminate on that.
Covid is pretty similar to chickenpox except the pool of people for whom it can turn deadly is even smaller - mostly these 65 and over and/or with severe chronical illnesses.
If we have never locked down for fucking chickenpox, locking down for Covid makes even less sense.
