SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office will not be enforcing the state issued curfew order, department officials announced Thursday evening.

The California Department of Public Health issued a curfew order for nearly all state residents as it tries to stem the surge of coronavirus cases that is threatening to overwhelm the healthcare system, said Gov. Gavin Newsom.

In response, the sheriff’s office issued a statement:

“The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is aware and will not be enforcing this curfew order,” said the statement. “Sheriff’s deputies will not be determining compliance with, or enforcing the compliance of, any health order related to this curfew. The Sheriff’s Office will not prevent Thanksgiving activities, maximum occupancies or mask wearing mandates at social gatherings within the county. Calls received by the Sheriff’s Office regarding enforcement of any COVID-related orders will be referred to the El Dorado County Department of Public Health at 530-621-6100.

“We will still address reports of criminal activity related to public safety and our El Dorado County citizens,” the statement continued. “The sheriff’s office will continue to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.”

There is still hope for the USA.

Guy who sent me this said that Kern County doesn't enforce unconstitutional edicts either.

Every single county in California I think. Steve Gregory from KFI was talking with LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva last night and Villanueava said he thought the most had been asked of restaurants with them complying and that it seemed unfair to target them. He also said that no one in the county showed him any of the “science” which would demonstrate a need for the curfew.

Most likely not. Cops aren’t really in the business of bullshit. Most county sherriffs and some police chiefs have said they won’t enforce.

He will be tarred, feathered and run out of town by all the F-book, Google, Salesforce etc. transplants who moved to South Lake Tahoe area since last March.

Being hopeful, which may prove to be an error since that hope springs eternal, I think that Facebook, Google, etc - are going to become what you think of Yahoo now. Google is very connected to advertisement and data storage, but I think advertisement online is ultimately worthless and people know what they want and buy what they want. That might sustain them for a while, but they are also funded by the government as is Facebook through contracts we don't see.

But I expect them to become irrelevant, just as CNN and Fox proved to be.

For searches, I use http://www.yandex.com - I find this to be (generally) better or at least equivalent to Google, even for technical searches although I will fall back onto Google at times. They are Russian, I'm sure they are censored as well, but not for the United States.

Nothing wrong with being hopeful, but remember that Facebook and Google just helped the Dems to steal an election. They will be rewarded for years to come, including any needed subsidies.
