November first, US citizens are allowed to travel to the country. No covid test necessary. Just proof of medical insurance and a health questionnaire.

Meanwhile Europe is locking down again even though the covid death rate is down 82%.

Anyone wanna bug out CR?

If Trump wins, I imagine we'll be full steam ahead come January.

Was supposed to be there last week. Had to swap out with St John due to Covid. Fucking virus has fucked up so many travel plans this year. Oh well.

Mexico in a little under 3 weeks for a kid free trip. No interest in Europe anyway, so they can stay locked down for a decade for all I care.

Yes expensive, but depends where you go. Food was solid last time we were there. Not sure where you were. We were in Tamarido area. Commie, yes, to an extent. It's Central America after all. 90 day restriction is a good thing. Helps with the ass holes overstaying their welcome. Do a border run, not a big deal. Our trip 2 years ago was super smooth and had no issues.

So you are a fan of Gallo Pinto for breakfast (beans and rice and eggs) and the popular Casado (rice, black beans, plantains, salad, and a tortilla).. I'll pass.

I don't do breakfast anywhere 90% of the time. If it's an option, most I'll have is a bagel with cream cheese or a hard boiled egg. And correct, most everything has beans included in CR.

We did go to a decent sushi place and I usually don't do sushi. Grilled some burgers at the house one night staying in and their beef is pure trash. Otherwise any meal out was on par with most places I've been to in the states. Nothing to hype up and nothing to complain about. We didn't hit any high end places, but CR is definitely not a place for foodies looking for great food. We had a chef in house 2 nights which was very good, but still nothing to go crazy about.

Recently elected Costa Rica president, Rodrigo Robles, rescinds the vaccine mandate. Makes it illegal to force anyone.

This is lol. This will piss of one of my friends down there that has a place. He's pushing 60. He legit had temper tantrums about people not wearing masks or getting vaccinated. Here or in Costa where his place is. Claimed Costa was "doing in the right way" with their lockdowns, even though he couldn't visit a property he owned over the fucking flu since he's in the states 90% of the time.

Fear is a fucked up thing. Which is why I ignore it, unless it involves my children. Covid is not that. I've worked in some of the worst neighborhoods on the planet. That's not hyperbole. This virus has been a joke and the people that take it seriously need to see a therapist. If you fear death, your life is going to be miserable. Have a beer or joint. Enjoy your kids if you have them. So done with these fear mongers.
