David Bowie's first TV Appearance, complaining about having chops busted for long hair.

Love how they turned off Yoko's Mic so she couldn't keep screaming her Ainu Whacko Shit.

Adam Clayton looked like Tim Bogart in that video.

When I want to anger a feminist, I tell them that Yoko Ono is the most talented, smartest, woman that has ever existed because even they know what a complete total fraud she is.

"Hello John!" "Hello!"

John didn't take the hint.
"Get the fuck out of my face, you're shitting all over this song."

I don't think Chuck liked anything about that performance. He was from my Father's generation, and my Dad would cringe when he saw two dudes dueling in one mic.
You can tell that they never rehearsed the harmonies together, Chuck was never able to find the Key and sing the song, for two reasons. First both of them were out of range of the cardioid pattern of the mic to pick up the ranges in their voices. Leaving it flat, second John was off key, making Chuck sing off key.
John was in Chucks way, it was probably sold to him, he was going sing while John and Yoko's band plays the song. The mic for Yoko was probably meant for John but she took it at the last minute.
Chuck kept throwing John dagger eyes, then smile passive aggressively.

I don't think Chuck ever shared the stage with top acts again ever after that. Unless it was some award show honoring him, and he was assured, nobody was going to take a duke in his Shit.

Check out Chuck here in the same year, working with young whipper snapper session hot shots..

Chuck spent the most part of this song trying to keep the tempo from running away, and the dynamics soft so he could sing clearly, and his guitar dynamics could be heard and appreciated. Which is hard to do, when the band is making it a hard driving rock thrash and bash.

at 2:00 he's mocking the band for not having feeling, and that swaying he was doing before, he was communicating to the band to put more swing into it, but keep it down.

Here he is schooling Clapton, Richards and Harrison, note how he's being the Maestro even with these top guns.
And still to that day, only one mic on stage. And he held on to it while he sang, so nobody would jump in.

I think she coined the yawning TDS banshee scream ahead of her times.

Here, I'll post one:

That was popular in my youth, despite how gay the music video is.

This stuff is way before my time, but I ran across it recently and it needs to be hyped. The Crazy Rockers were one of those Dutch/Indonesian groups ("Indorock" genre). What incredible technique and sound quality! Hard to believe that's a live video from the sixties.

This is some of the more approachable Melvins stuff. Now THIS is my generation. Kurt Kobain was their roadie and they influenced him.

What a great drummer. He reminds me of Jim Fox from the James Gang.

Until at least a couple of years ago, Eric Burden was still belting as good as ever, even though he looks like a wizened, grey haired figure. I heard him and Animals at Santa Cruz concert a few years ago and he was great.

As I get older I listen to the harsh stuff (Motorhead) less often, but Hawkwind still sounds great (without being too grating). Stacia had huge jugs!
