"This is not about President Trump."

Actually, that's all it's about.
2   Bd6r   2020 Oct 9, 9:23am

I suppose being demented like Biden is no problem?
3   rocketjoe79   2020 Oct 9, 9:40am

Actually, this is their plan:
1. Set up a permanent Comittee to continuously evaluate the President's health.
2. Committee uses the 25th to remove Trump from Office. Pence takes over until election day.
3. Pence loses the election to Biden / Harris.
4. Biden Sworn in, then ousted due to latent dementia by the Panel.
5. Harris sworn in as President!

Which was the end game all along, wasn't it?

6. Harris dies in a bizarre Prius crash before appointing a VP.
7. Pelosi assumes the presidency, and appoints Hillary VP.
8. Pelosi dies in bizarre pottery kiln explosion.

Go ahead. I don't go down to the tiny details like this in our laws and constitution, but doesn't HIPPA apply here? Does Trump have to disclose any of his medical issues, if he even has any major ones? And even if he does, what's the barometer for his mental and physical health? Almost dying on deathbed? Or we think he's off? If that's going to be the new precedent we could boot most politicians out of office.

This is a stupid path Dems are going down. I say let them and swing the votes another point or two. God this is going to be a blood bath. They're simply not converting independents. They're pushing them away.
6   WookieMan   2020 Oct 9, 10:01am

Anyone else using Safari get wonky with auto spell corrections? Just typed precedent and it change it to president. I spelled precedent correctly too. I've been noticing this more, it's weird. I usually don't make edits, but if it completely fucks the comment up, I have to.

I think this is just signaling. It has zero chance of becoming law.
But... what is concerning to me is that Pelosi will take the words of the 25th Ammendment out of context and try to de facto impeach Trump with the 25th using nothing but a House majority.
8   Tenpoundbass   2020 Oct 9, 10:20am

Her idiot in cohort Jamie Raskin, admitted yesterday they are hijacking the 25th amendment to use as recourse and punishment, when Trump says or does something they don't like.
It has nothing to do with his sound mind.

I think Prince Andrew is the ultimate target successor for POTUS. How many intermediaries have to die before it reaches him? MI6 and CIA need to know. IHLlary might be a little lightweight for the job.
11   Dholliday126   2020 Oct 9, 10:49pm

A desperation move like this is puzzling, comes off as extremely panicky, does this mean they know Trump is going to take it in a walk? Not sure....will never become law, so like why...

Just let her do it. Smart people, even Democrats are catching on. All this behavior does is bump Trump's numbers. She's panicking and pandering to the extreme left in the House. Not a chance she keeps the Speaker position if Dems hold it after November. The party will either be blown up and reconfigured or they'll double down on retardation and put someone like AOC or some other moron up for the spot.

Dems like everything mentally ill.
15   Shaman   2020 Oct 10, 7:24am

So the Democrats currently control the House of Representatives, but not the SCOTUS or the Presidency. Therefore in their extremely shortsighted and foolish way, they are attempting to destroy the two branches that they do not currently control:
1)Congressional sword of Damocles over the President: at any time this unelected commission of elites can drop a dime and remove the President if they don’t like how he’s governing.
2)Pack the Supreme Court: add nine more judges, all ideologues like RBG and the Wise Latina who will disregard the Constitution and vote for Democrat policies no matter what.

This means that two branches of three are effectively neutered and only Congress matters for government.
This would create a Constitutional Crisis and May dissolve our Union completely.

So the Democrats truly do wish to destroy America in their quixotic quest for absolute power.

Eh... Obama was a smoker and could have come down with lung cancer at any moment. My old man got it without smoking. Every human has a vice that's unhealthy, doesn't mean they can't be POTUS.

Pelosi is done as Speaker. This is a power play not for US citizens, but for her fellow Democrat House members. She's made massive amounts of money off the position and likely has skeletons in the closet that could get put under the microscope when she no longer has that power. If she has POTUS in the Dem party her job is secure. Don't know what those skeletons are, but she's batshit crazy trying to get rid of Trump. There has to be a reason when left leaning folks, if they're honest, say Trump has done at least a decent job but they just don't like him. This is my mom. Hates Trump as a "man" but I've gotten her to admit that life has been pretty decent/good the last 4 years. She agrees.

Also very hard to beat the incumbent in recent history. I know he mentions it, but I think he needs to hammer home the Middle East peace stuff. We've been in Afghanistan for almost 2 decades. People are tired of it and he didn't start any new shit and got Arab nations to sign deals with Isreal.

People know and feel the economy by looking at their checking account balance and investments. Covid has hurt some of that, but I don't think it moves the needle. You can't blame an individual human for a virus.

Restructuring trade deals is a positive, though I don't think the changes are all that dramatic. Also, most Americans know they're buying from China, but deep down don't like the Chinese. The non-americanized ones are strange people. Had an interaction with one that was lost in Grand Teton NP (not sure how if you've been). Her boobs were practically touching me when she needed directions. I could have easily licked her nose. Broken English, but she just wouldn't listen. Besides older Europeans, Asians are the worst tourist if you find yourself in a tourist hotspot.

Chinese rant aside, I do not see how Trump could lose.
21   HeadSet   2020 Oct 11, 8:09am

I do not see how Trump could lose.

Absolutely. But did you see how the Dem could win the midterm House race by using imbedded criminal elements in the FBI, outright lies by Congressmen like Shiff, and the national media to convince the public on that totally fabricated Russian Collusion narrative? How about an impeachment not on real substance, but merely because you have enough partisan votes to proceed? In a fair election, Trump will dominate and Repubs will pick up House and Senate seats. But who knows what vote mining and other fraud tactics will be used on Nov 4 with the mail in votes, backed up by partisan Dem judges, partisan gov officials and a partisan media.
22   rocketjoe79   2020 Oct 11, 10:40am

We still need to send an unequivlcal Message to the Left with a Massive Vote Turnout. They need to know we are not going in their direction on all fringe issues. We can compromise to the center, but forget all their socialist crapola. This is a Federal Republic, not a Socialist utopia.

This of course is the X factor. I'm mostly convinced though that they can't get away with much of it without it being blatantly obvious. Basically, they have to commit epic voter fraud that is almost certainly traceable. Know a lot of people and very few, I mean very few are voting for Biden.

I also don't see their ballots on election day or early voting, but I'm starting to see some liars out there. There's people that bash Trump that they're happy about no new wars, middle east peace, etc.. but he's a bad guy. I think a lot of this people are voting for him. I could be wrong and we'll never know, but I personally think this is going to be a landslide with a massive temper tantrum and then the best 3 years or so we've seen.

I actually saw banners and a bunch of pro Trump supporters on the overpass in Orinda or Lafayette on my way to Oakland yesterday.

Then the biggest catamaran at tha marina was flying a huge American flag over a just as big Trump 2020 flag. No nobody was protesting or shooting at them.

I saw a Bernie 2020 sticker but no Biden bumper stickers.

Anecdotal but I am not seeing much vocal and visible support for Biden/ Harris outside of the media.
