...recent polling suggests that Democrats are having a tough time in this key southern state, where an unexpected group of voters is fleeing the Democratic Party. Hispanics, a once-reliable voting bloc for Democrats, appear to be breaking for Trump in growing numbers. Trump is expected to capture 36 percent of the Hispanic vote in November, according to a recent Quinnipiac poll conducted shortly after the party conventions. While that’s far from a majority, it’s also far higher than the president’s overperformance among this group in 2016, when the president took 29 percent of the Hispanic vote. That was better than Mitt Romney’s 27 percent in 2012 but short of John McCain’s 31 percent in 2008.

Zoom into Florida today, though, and Trump is winning among Hispanic voters 50 percent to Biden’s 46 percent, according to a recent NBC/Marist survey out last month.

A recent second wave of socialist devastation under authoritarian regimes is re-traumatizing Latin American voters, many of whom see the Democratic Party using the same rhetoric deployed in their home countries.

“What happens with leftist regimes is they normalize what is not normal,” Vilarino said. “They normalize cheating, they normalize lying, they normalize stealing, they normalize envy, they normalize division.”

Black Lives Matter, But Do Hispanic Lives?

The Democratic Party has in large part become an extension of the Black Lives Matter movement, for which Biden has promised to be a vehicle. That’s a problem for many of Florida’s Hispanic voters, Miami-area Republican strategist Dave Reaboi tells me. The left’s obsession with identity politics is driving division, pushing away Hispanics who see themselves more as Cuban-Americans or Colombian-Americans, or even just Americans.

“Some Hispanics may see the Democrats’ explicit appeals to racial tribalism as alienating, necessarily pitting Hispanics against African-Americans,” Reaboi said.

In general hispanics are hard working people, many of whom are victims of past socialist authoritarian regimes. They fled for freedom.
Many are also religious catholics. They are a very poor fit for the democratic party.

The Hispanics I know are numerous.

Those who are working at schools in California because they are bilingual dislike Trump. They are around Mexican kids all day.

Others whom I met in Florida are not impressed by illegals and their spawn; Colombians and Cubans like Trump.

It boils down to if you make money from illegals or not.

Great news. I also have to imagine that Asians feel the same way. Do Asian Lives Matter?

I see that in TX as well, Hispanics are turning R (may be not necessarily to support Trump)

TX poll: Among all voters in the poll, Trump led Biden 47.5% to 40.5% with 10.2% saying they are still undecided and the remainder favoring the Green Party or Libertarian candidates. Among people “most likely” to vote, that narrows to a 49.5% to 44.1% lead for Trump, with 5% undecided.

Among Hispanics, Biden has a 47.4% to 37.9% advantage, but 13.2% remain undecided.

Trump has much better result than previous R candidates, other than Bush Jr.

I recently stumbled upon a reddit sub named aznidentity, who claim to be "The most active Asian-American community on the web".

I was surprised at how much anti-white hate there was. Like almost every post had at least a few comments, and they usually had lots of upvotes. But it was pretty interesting to read and see their perspectives.

Anyway, a highly-upvoted comment in this post stuck out to me

Posted this on another thread that got removed pretty fast:

Nothing Democrats have done have ever come close to the harm that Republicans and conservatives are inflicting on Asians. Whenever I see arguments of “Democrats are hurting Asians,” it’s always from the lens of “Democrats favor blacks over Asians.”

I’ll agree that, while Blacks face institutional violence, we face institutional silence. But a focus on black issues by the Democrats is not the equivalent of direct and repeated attacks by Republicans. Any false equivalency is an attempt to encourage naive people to hate the Democrats.

But when:

-all the House Democrats voted for a resolution denouncing Anti-Asian crimes and all but 14 Republicans voted against it

-when the Republican President calls the virus the “Kung Flu”

-when the Republicans’ game plan is literally to blame all problems on China

-when Republicans call China part of the new “Axis of Evil”

-when Republicans try to block Chinese nationals from being able to communicate with their families

-when Republicans draft bills to kick our students from China

-when Republicans push for policies to exclude foreign students by shortening their visas, which will disproportionately affect Asian students

-when Republicans increased the visa denials to Chinese by 13.5%, and instead favored European visa applicants

-when Republicans continue to attack and kick out Chinese researchers without valid basis

it really should be fucking clear that both sides are not the same. I think that ANY Asian who votes Republican this year is a race traitor.

I'm not sure how widespread these views are among asians, as I imagine there's some typical reddit-user social selection going on, but I feel like I understand a bit better now why they vote dem as a group, even though I would have guessed they would vote more conservatively. This poster seems like he might not be much of an American, and still identifies heavily with china. Some chinese coworkers of mine seem to badmouth china frequently, calling it a piece of shit country, but they were all born here (to immigrant parents).

It’s only been a short bit since Asians went Dem.

I’d bet it’s entirely due to Hong Kong refugees from the late 80’s getting citizenship status combined with the population being another generation removed from those that immigrated here.

And btw I can’t figure out koreans at all. They should be 90% republican considering how many own business and considering the public images from the Rodney King Riots.

About 20 years ago I got in a discussion with a Korean co worker. He grew up here, his parents had immigrated from S. Korea and he had a Korean name. We were talking about friendships and social circles and he shared with me that he attended a Korean language church and nearly all his social circle was based with koreans. I asked him why and he said he would always support and associate with mostly Koreans. I told him that was a very narrow minded and racist point of view and he couldn’t understand how being culturally xenophobic was anything remotely racist.

Growing up in a very diverse area, it was one of the odder conversations I’ve ever had. Even phillipinos, who stick together thick and thin, won’t outright say it.
