Wonder why SCOTUS has become politicized over the past 50 or so years?

It is because Congress got the brilliant idea to no longer doing its job. Mainly, making the hard choices. Hard choices means re-election risk. So, they deliberately pass the hard issues to the courts. Both parties.

Meanwhile, they constantly pass detailed legislation on economic and regulatory policies...and not to our benefit.

Abortion is the main example of this. But so was getting rid of O-Care. Republican voters voted for Republicans in Congress to get rid of it. And what did they do? Pass the buck to SCOTUS.
