I think the right just was like "whatever, do whatever you want to your kid, sterilize if you like", and the expected response was to be moral outrage. I think the right (and much of the left) has just decided to steer clear of this stuff. I feel sorry for a kid that transitioned before they even had sex much less had the opportunity to have kids, but look at this way - less grandchildren for these woke grandparents.
