Eh... a Kansas state house seat really doesn't move the needle. If you got down to it and started digging around in local house and senate seats in any state (just using general terms) you find a fuckload of messed up people. An unopposed seat generally means it's a shit hole and no one wants to do the work or cares, so yeah, no surprise a dickhead wants to collect a government check and saw an opportunity despite being a scumbag. Politics 101.
