It didn't say how many walmart jobs were cut though, so this may just be typical cut-the-fat waves that many big companies periodically do, asking their mgmt to fire the worst 10% of employees, while continuing to hire new people. It did mention some old ppl w/ 20+ yrs at the company got axed, which is typical of cutting the fat.
I thought it was interesting though that it said walmart hasnt been opening any new stores for a while, and that theyre focusing on efficiency / agility / innovation. To me, that speaks a lot to what they expect the climate to be like for them in the next 1-5yr range.
I would love to see a backlash to wokeness in business though.
I also cant wait to hear Goyas next quarterly earnings lol

I expect to see more of this, a lot more. For so long, this class of useless idiots were protected layoff after layoff while the producers in the company got sacked.
In most downturns, it's because consumer needs plunge. There is still a big consumer demand, people are refusing to buy or spend money with companies because of their polices. The people in the corporate positions have ruined these companies.
