Joe Rogan’s reason #1: he saves $10 million in income tax by moving to Texas.

Ah, I didn't know they had zero income tax.
The lefties go nuts about Texas’ high property tax.
I live in a $435k home (probably closer to $550k since I purchased it) in NJ. I pay $11k in property taxes. The property taxes in Texas are a joke.
why do Hollywood stars pluck cash on estates in places like Bel Air or MalibuIf we're worth $35MM and pulling in $5M / year, you don't really worry about wasting $0.25MM a year on a shack in Malibu. It's not your main residence, so you aren't wasting $0.5MM every year on in-state California income taxes.
I recall the pro golfer Phil Nicolson teasing Tiger Woods for living in Florida and how he was happy in La Jolla paying California taxes.
I believe Phil has since moved to Florida
He cited some reasons for moving
- center of the country, so easier to goto to travel throughout usa.
- LA is over crowded
- CA is restrictive
- CA taxes too high
- and lastly, more freedom
I think he's scared. He sees what the rage mob is doing in Seattle and Portland, and he sees how LA politicians are siding w/ BLM and agreed to defund the police, and happily stoke the anti-police sentiment fire. He knows the potential for what can happen in a place like LA if mob rule escalates. Especially for people like him, because his business is talking, and he talks a lot. Even if he quit talking today, he risks angering someone for things he said in the past.
IMO he knows the leftists are out of control, and is fleeing LA. It's ironic IMO, because Rogan is himself a lefty. Some of his views sometimes throw people off because he can sound like a conservative in some cases due to his libertarian views, but he is a lefty, and Bernie was his first Presidential pick. Sometimes on his show you'll see his intolerance when he gets angry at his guests' differing opinion on a heated social issue.
Him and his left wing ilk has been voting blue in CA forever, and dems always support these measures to increase density in big cities, while reducing freedoms, and quality of life. Now he flees to TX, where he will surely continue to vote like a dumb shit.
