I'd say we're only a week away before it's officially NOT an epidemic (not that it ever really was).

Coronavirus deaths in the country have nearly reached a level where the virus will cease to qualify as an epidemic under Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rules, the federal agency reported on Friday.

The CDC qualifies a disease outbreak as an "epidemic" if the number of deaths attributable to the disease exceeds a certain percentage of total deaths per week. That threshold for pneumonia, influenza and COVID-19 fluctuates slightly depending on the time of year, ranging from around 7% at the height of flu season to around 5% during less virulent months.

CDC data indicate that deaths from those ailments began skyrocketing in the country around the second week of March, hitting a peak around early May and then plummeting quickly after that.

The latest data show that the percentage of deaths in the country attributable to those factors had as of the last week in June reached its lowest point since the end of last year, becoming "equal to the [current] epidemic threshold of 5.9%," the CDC said.

Time to raise the fear mongering to threat level 7. Cue the teleprompter at XiNN and MSNPC in three, two, one...

“Trump supporters are putting democracy at risk by refusing to wear a face mask while eating!”

“Trump gave a speech in recognition of 4 previous presidents impact on American history, which is clearly divisive and controversial. He is running to be president of the Confederacy!!!”

“Russia!!!!”

Yeah, once it's not an epidemic, I believe all the shutdowns won't be allowed to happen anymore in the name of public health. Probably why the media has hyped it to level 4000.

No shut down was legally enforceable. In this country you cannot force another human to stay in their home under threat of fines and imprisonment. It's 100% unconstitutional. There's no debate to be had. Especially on public land. We all literally own public spaces and cannot be kept from them legally. Most people are just not willing to put up a fight because it cost $$$$$ to fight and most don't have it.

An old boss, liberal now retired, posted on social media, "When someone wears their nose out of their mask or wears their mask on their chin they are basically saying F you. They are dangerous people that need to be dealt with."

It's scary how divisive mask use has become.

That boss is an asshole. After fucking over the youth by kicking the can down the road and keeping their asset prices high the boomers or pre-boomers now only care about getting free shit, free Medicaid etc. and drinking life blood from the young so they can extend their egotistical life into the 100s while minimum wage youth wipes their asses in the nursing homes. All the rules you have been seeing are made for the old, the young are just useful idiots falling for the leftoid pied piper by voting for socialism and free shit. The boomers will be long dead when this comes crashing down on the then middle-aged and prospect-less once-youth. You reap what you sow. No more free shit for anyone.

Right and if you tell em straight up they always let go because they know it's unconstitutional. All of those health orders and codes are basically made up shit. And old shrieking harridans and drunkards are the ones drafting them. Clown world.

If that style socialism ever did get put in place, old folks like Nancy would be replaced by Alexandria, and socialism's lack of productivity would required cutbacks. Those cutbacks would be in SS and nursing home care. May even see a more blatant act like Cuomo forcing nursing homes to accept known CV-19 patients, fully aware of the danger to the older residents.
