The City Council went full metal liberaltard and voted UNANIMOUSLY to defund the MPD.

So, what will this do with the property market? Any takers on this?

Why don't they hire some analysts from Chaz? I'm sure they'd know.

I read a mechanical manufacturer named 7 Sigma is leaving Minneapolis.

I'm not sure about the restaurants and other small businesses packing up and going, and I doubt the large businesses like Target will.

I suspect if this actually gets implemented, there may be more private security guards employed for businesses such as one guard is hired by multiple small adjacent businesses.

Only a few businesses will move out or will shut down, so that may help to stabilize home prices in the adjacent residential areas.

Why would anybody not want to buy real estate or start a business in a city that's just been burned down by Antifa and ghetto rats, in which the mayor and city council have just disbanded the police department? Aren't they supposed to be making their decisions based on altruism and faith in human nature?

I wonder if mortgage lenders will redline the city or require additional homeowners insurance riders or larger down payments or all of the above.

Insurance companies will either pull out of the market, or jack up rates astronomically. At some point it becomes a cash only situation.

And they would do it for free, because your money is no good in Chaz

Prices have not changed yet. Still a housing shortage with no mass exodus due to extreme woke ignorance. Oh how the city will burn when Chauvin is acquitted on murder 2. He did not intend to kill and no reasonable jury will convict beyond a reasonable doubt. Hopefully Feds bring civil rights charges because they might stick. There was no reason to kneel on him for so long. Chauvin was clearly abusing his authority as a “Peace Officer” but if he wanted to get away with murder then he would not have done it on camera.

FYI if it were not for Somali immigrants, Minneapolis area would have decreased in population during the past 15-20 years.

Nah, ya lost me there. No one said anything remotely similar to that.

Interracial crime is overwhelmingly black people assaulting white people, not the other way around. And cops are are also disproportionately attacked by black men.

Contrary to the Black Lives Matter narrative, the police have much more to fear from black males than black males have to fear from the police. In 2015, a police officer was 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male was to be killed by a police officer.

Black males have made up 42 percent of all cop-killers over the last decade, though they are only 6 percent of the population. That 18.5 ratio undoubtedly worsened in 2016, in light of the 53 percent increase in gun murders of officers — committed vastly and disproportionately by black males.

Until these facts are publicly acknowledged, nothing will change. Black crime is central to everything that is happening, yet is studiously ignored by the media and all liberals.

All they need to do is have negative interest rates for Minneapolis properties..the new home owners will get paid to live there....no credit, bad credit doesn't matter..you'll never have to make a payment...claim that each house is worth a million...problem solved.

Lewiston Maine. Also not covered by a media - you know what a newshound I am - Somalian gangs killed a man in the park, then attacked a memorial service a week later. Despite tons of phone footage, police are 'unable to locate' any offenders.

So what?
Which Shira-law part of the world would you like to live in? Without vast quantities of oil, Minneapolis will (has already?) become yet another drag for the prosperous parts of the country.

At best he can hope to get a hung jury.

In Minneapolis, hanging the jury would probably result in more justice than convicting a police officer.
