So they'll be a gun range now.

I don't care about the politics on this one. Crossfit can go away like the dinosaurs did. I'm sure surgeons that do knee work love it, but it's fucking destroying people's bodies on a daily basis. Especially people with zero athletic ability.

Too bad. It was good training for throwing pipes through plate glass windows without getting rotator cuff pain.

I don’t care for xfit either. Just a stark reminder of what happens here when leftist media demands obedience. They aren’t the first business to suffer.

You know the whole “they first came for x, and I didn’t speak up...”

Yep, it's generally a bad idea to turn deadlifts into a speed contest. Didn't some guy fuck up his spine for life at the Crossfit Games for trying to lift a lot of weight as fast as possible?

The SLOWER you do reps, the better, actually. Most people do them too fast at what they think is "Regular" speeds. At least two seconds!

I thought the pendulum swingers who think they are doing bicep curls were bad enough. Then they say "I'm a hardgainer".

I actually really enjoyed CF for the year that I did it. I was 36 at the time, got a six pack and was pretty damn ripped. I could back squat around 315 at the time.

What I didn't like:

1) High rate of injury. There was an injured person in every class. I ended up with a neck injury that I still struggle with to this day.

2) Expensive. I believe I was paying around $200/month to work out.

3) Cult like. Once you drink the CF kool aid, you usually like it - but if you leave the cult, the friends you make rarely talk to you anymore outside of the gym.

I remember you bringing this up. Of the people I know that participated in it, no one has come out injury free. No one. You'll get ripped for sure, but it generally comes at a cost. No coup is right on method as well. And I think I said it at the time of your original post, I'm a fan of higher reps and lower weight. Less chance of injury and you'll have more of a lean, runners type body versus someone that looks like they may have taken some roids.

There are women out there that like the meatheads for sure, but they're usually gym rats themselves. Toned and strong, but not huge is what most women like. Sure some like to have sex with the hulk, but most don't. Let me know when Dwayne Johnson gets voted "sexiest man alive" by some magazine and I'll show you 100 others that show someone like Brad Pitt.

Further discussion on CF, it's also a marriage buster for a lot of people. I think it's about 5-6 married couples I know that have broken up through CF friendships. One guy is actually dead because of it, but that may have been more him being obese and doing blow. It's mainly the women. If you like your wife and she joins CF, I'd be joining and going with her.

I sometimes feel like CF is the Tinder app of working out.

To me the offensive thing isn't that it's "racis'" but that it was a stupid remark that doesn't make any sense and is devoid of ironic or humor value. Floyd-19, what is that supposed to mean? Shouldn't it be Floyd-20? Even then.

Reminds me of many right wing memes, or those shittily drawn cartoons that hardcore racist sites like resist dot com always ran. There are lots of things that I might disagree with but can see the wit and humor values put in to them. These, I don't even see what people who agree with them find appealing.

Ed: As for Crossfit, my opinion of it hasn't changed because of the CEO's brain fart tweet. I already thought they were too culty as workout programs go. I'm speaking as someone who has run many obstacle course races so no stranger to fitness and physical challenge.

Covid-19 kill all the FREEDOM hating RepCons you want.

TepCons aren’t mass gathering by thousands screaming random cult shit about black lives.

My wife does CrossFit, and has for at least four years. Yah it’s expensive but she likes it and works out carefully. I tried it for a few months but man was I just constantly sore. Then I got a back injury and took a break from it. My back is better but i haven’t returned... might once it opens again. Idk.

Have me a back injury too. I wouldn’t.
