Notice how there is really no end day to the shelter in place anymore, just some obscure "stages" and restaurants and hotels and vacation rentals are not even included in the coming stage (restaurants very limited curbside and some outdoor seating). This means that you're a prisoner until further notice, at the minimum til end of June, or risk forfeiting your booking or being turned away as they ask for "additional documentation" so you have literally zero of your already little privacy left. This is yet the biggest scam in CAs history, I'm waiting for the next wave of mass defaults in hotels and restaurants and the utter decimation for CAs hospitality industry. Fuck this unconstitutional leftoid bullshit. I thought the people with the ARs going to the town hall and posing there were a bit too redneck-y for me but I am starting to understand them. What has happened to a once fearless country, the country of cowboys, astronauts, oil and coal workers, pilgrims? They now sit afraid in their rooms "awaiting government orders" because of a cold/flu virus - WTF?! If you have an ounce of common sense left there is not a single reason to ever vote left again until they stop being the fascists of the 21st century. I'd much rather have the 60s and 70s hippies back then this flock of leftoid seagulls. Driven by data my ass.

Yikes, last week was a bit ugly...

Got a url for the source of that graph @EBGuy ?

The graphs are actually smooth. Spikes are from reporting variations. Of course, the graph agitprop specialists will try to make them look like the taper won't end until Nov. 3.

This is no wonder - CA had the lowest testing rates, the bay area especially compared to LA for example. Now they are offering everyone being tested, even those without symptoms as the mobile testing centers (I run by 2 of them) often have zero cars in the parking lot for hours and need at least some business as hospitals and labs and MDs offices have enough capacity to test inside. So now they are ramping up testing for everyone and they also are reporting cases whose results took forever. Covid-19 is not going away and for a somewhat dense area with say 1MM people like SF there will always be 5-30 cases per day for a long time to come. 10 cases per day on avg. for the 2nd half of the year would only be 1800 new cases by the end of 2020. But they are not letting up until they have less than 7 cases per day for 2 weeks in SF or so until they loosen up anything significantly. Good luck with that, I'm sure with their reporting practices they can keep this from fully opening up for another few months. Fuckers.

I agree the graphs look very good, testing has increased by magnitudes yet infections are flat, that means the number of positive results kept dropping, I think by now less than a 2 percents of tests come back positive. But they will use this to keep the lockdown going.

Also the rate of recovered has already started outpacing the rate of new infections in the US, but they intentionally lag the data for the recovered patients in CA. Total cases in SF are 2408, maybe a 1000-1500 active cases are left, and dropping.

Just remember to sit by the door (or open window) when you go out to eat.

Better yet, eat outside. With weather like CA, why not dine al fresco every chance you get anyway.

Right this is general for indoors though, whether it's the grocery store or the restaurant doesn't matter. Outdoor transmission is so rare that you literally have to stand face to face and talk fro minutes. Also in that graph you have to assume that somebody near you by the AC blowing in an unfortunate way is infected and infectious. Def possible but if you go once a month to a restaurant also very unlikely.

Agreed but due to stringent alcohol laws and high cost of real estate there aren't that many outdoor restaurants, there should be many many more in CA/ the bay area.

It is your patriotic duty to contract and survive Covid19 to help build herd immunity so we can get back to FUCKING NORMAL!

Well, I can see why mell is losing it. The 6 foot rule just turned into the 30 foot rule (PDF) in Ess Eff:
In sum, going forward and for as long as this Order remains in effect as needed to address the pandemic, people must, unless an exception applies, wear a Face Covering when outside and when anyone else other than just members of their household or living unit is within 30 feet (10 yards).
This 30-foot rule applies whether people are on the sidewalk, in a park, on a path or trail, or in any other outdoor area, and whether they are walking, running, biking, otherwise exercising, standing, or engaged in transportation such as using a motorcycle, skateboard, moped, or scooter.

Nobody with an ounce of self respect is going to follow this shit. You can't run with a mask it's actually quite hazardous in the long run. And imagine all the newly minted Karens with 30 ft. patrolling the streets.

Is the eastern span of the Bay Bridge part of Ess Eff proper? Great bike ride but I can't imagine doing it with mask on.
I'm worried that this Ess Eff Contagion is going to spread to health departments in the East Bay. I hope they break ranks...

I know I'm repetitive, but always, always tell them to fuck off and tell them to stay home. If it's actually a dude, punch them in the mouth and take one for the team. A minor assault charge isn't a big deal, unless you've got Tyson type power.

I kickbox but I'm getting older, still I'm already on the SF's Schindlers shit-list for climbing the fences to play Tennis inside the locked courts.

It may be too hard to enforce most of the time, esp. if you fly by fast on your bike. Still you will have to watch out for the Karen's with the 30 foot poles impaling you for not keeping the distance. I would not wear a mask on any bike ride, esp. not a longer one. There's a reason masks are only used in hazardous conditions and for a limited time, you don't want the shit you breathe out lingering by your mouth. It prob also lowers your Vo2max in the long term.

You'll be so glad you did!

I liked it so much I'm considering doing it again!
