As other posters have described, I also have Roku and Amzaon Prime.

In no particular order:

1. Rome - fuck yeah! Titus Pullo kicks ass and good softcore to boot.
2. Downtun Abbey - the wife wanted to watch it, but actually quite enjoyable.
3. Jack Ryan - took me a while to warm up to The Office dude, but he does deal righteous retribution.
4. Britannia - thought it to be an inferior Rome, but crazy Druids and graphic beheadings and shit make it work.
5. The Expanse - I am hooked on this scifi series. Beware the protomolecule, Great cast. Good special effects.

Is that Rome from the early to mid 2000's HBO or Showtime(I forget which one had it) series?

They had two great seasons of it, then just like that it got canceled. I don't even think they made it to knifing Caesar in the Senate.
They kept kicking the story plot down the road to drag out the series. Then they ended up canceling it before any of it resolved.

Just like so many shows, like Sopranos, and the like. It was all part of the reasoning for me ditching cable back in 2012 and never looking back.
Most of those series would have made great 3 to 5 part miniseries in 1:45 installments, and then call it done.

I refuse to watch Netflix series before I pulled the plug on it too. I watched a series on Ghangis Khan, first season was amazing, they pulled the plug midway through the boring as fuck second season. SO I have avoided them all since then. I liked Netflix when they had Starz movie library and would release newer movies along those lines.
When they decided to produce their own content, I knew straight away I would be ditching them.

Series are a pointless waist of time. I haven't seen one yet, they couldn't have been wrapped up in a Trilogy.
Not in the last 20 years or more.

2 seasons, 22 episodes. They did make it to Caesar getting knifed. Ended with the fall or Mark Anthony and Cleopatra. In many respects, it's a buddy movie series.

They made a huge mistake: They cancelled it after the first few episodes, before it got any word of mouth traction.

Season 2, Episode 1 had a blow out opening, but they had already cancelled the series. Season 2 is so compressed, it flies by; they condensed like 2 more seasons into 1 when they filmed it.

By the time they realized they fucked up bad, all the actors and staff were flung to the winds on other jobs and they couldn't get it back to together again.

I haven't been this disappointed since I found out the 1541 was 20x faster, but they nerfed it so it would be VIC-20 compatible.

Watched Netflix Waco in one sitting. Not a cheerful mini-series.

I watched The Sopranos on the Roku channel for free last month, I had never seen it.
It was pretty good.

Now I’m watching a bunch of foreign movies on TubiTV.

I also have a cool Roku channel “classic reel” with a ton of old movies for 2.99/month.

I've already watched the seasons before Wuhan flu, but Ozark (netflix) and Yellowstone (amazon?) are two recent binge worthy shows I've watched in the last year or so.

War of the Worlds series on Epix, OK but no Expanse (which I agree, is great, very novel use of CGI for space effects and always a surprise around the corner).

Started "City of Angels" series on Showtime because free week, an expansion set from Penny Dreadful, which was very good while it lasted though grim.

Caught up with "Homeland" season 8, which was a worthy end to the series.

Wife wanted to watch "Downton Abbey" movie, which was OK. So many lovable aristocrats. So many generations chopping off heads and tyrannizing peasants to become wealthy and burdened by manners/mannerisms, just to become slightly supercilious wimpoids.

Yellowstone and The Expanse are my two current favorite shows.
Watching “Grimm” with the wife right now. Wasn’t that hopeful but the show has surprisingly decent writing!

Anyone have a binge-worthy comedy show to recommend? Seems like those are the best for wife-side binging.
