Too bad they can't invent a shuttle launch system derived heavy lift vehicle in 40 years, although all they had to do was mount an engine under the main tank. Hasn't flown even a sub orbital mission yet.

Thank goodness for Elon Musk. He just surpassed the Atlas V launches, 84 to 83 I believe. With a reusable rocket from a new family about a decade old, versus an ICBM design that goes back to when Elvis was in the Charts in the 1950s.
