Noam Chompsky says the health care system is “lacking even minimal support,” and health care providers are “being compelled to make these agonizing decisions about who to kill tomorrow.”
Of all the countries around the world, Chompsky thinks the U. S. is “at the bottom of the barrel” in terms of providing health care to it’s citizens.
In the April 12, interview on Democracy Now, Chompsky calls our health care system “scandalous” and not ready for this pandemic. “This is exacerbated by the strange collection of gangsters in Washington. It seems they took every possible step to make this as bad as possible."
By gangsters, he means the Trump administration, who has in his opinion, gutted the American health care system. Chompsky says “the Obama administration tried to prepare for something like this.”
Even biased left-wing Snopes rates that claim as FALSE.
Chompsky said, “We have a total freak show,” in Washington, a “dysfunctional government” that, in his world view, is “causing enormous problems.” He accuses Trump of defunding the CDC, Centers for Disease Control, and says “the country is being run by sociopaths.”
His rhetoric is misleading at best. And yet, he thinks the Trump administration is “racing toward the abyss.” I think he has fallen into the abyss.
