What you have to realize is that doctors (who are often republicans btw) and science people in general aren't like Trump supporters that can just instantly believe whatever they want to believe. That is, they know that if they have one case that gets better, or worse after using an experimental treatment it literally tells them NOTHING !

They don't have the luxury of bringing their emotions, or wishfull thinking, or negative thinking in to it. They are scientists. I would say that you can be sure that those experimental treatments are being used out there a lot. But think about it.

Suppose that for those experimental treatments to work, they have to be used relatively early (or at least before late stage pneumonia of elderly individuals).

And then consider that many people get better anyway if you are looking at their state relatively early, and then on from there.

Take these two together and you might understand why it isn't immediately clear how much better the treatment works than the other default treatments. But if it does work, we should be able to see a decreasing rate of increase of the curve for the death numbers soon. That actually should be happening regardless of how well those treatments work.

Even if it was off the charts effective, you really think that would be in the news already ? Fortunately doctors and other medical professionals are going to be circumspect about anecdotal data, and they just wouldn't have access to all the data. Which even then wouldn't necessarily be as obvious as you think, Unless the treatment was some kind of miracle cure that could even turn around a 75 year old with advanced pneumonia (a physical condition caused by the virus - not the virus itself).

Like most rational people I was very encouraged or at least hopeful about the possibilities of various experimental treatments working. That didn't change when Trump publicly pushed one of the most hopeful ones. (Note: It would have been more Presidential to have have done this through conventional channels - if he wasn't like you - hoping it could be the "Trump Pill").
