Empirical, but heading to work with two stops along the way. More cars out than last week, older people by far the worst offenders.

Stubbornness is a very bad quality. Shocked an 8% death rate doesn’t concern people just a bit.0

Headed back to work today. The freeway (which is normally a parking lot from 6:30AM-9AM) was wide open, like driving on a Sunday morning. I was driving in peak rush hour. Crazy.

Because the infection rate is
.00035485%
Do you know anyone with the Corona Virus? Also this whole disease from diagnosis to testing is CDC's baby. I'm not 100% those test strips only test positive for the Covid19 strain.

This is why Epstein, and Rand Paul are testing positive, I bet any run of the mill Corona Virus will test positive.

And before you scare me with Hospital reports about running out of resources and room. That happens every few years with the seasonal flu.

The media has amplified it, and it was allowed to spread across the world so quickly because of the help from the Cruise Ship incubators. Then countries being brow beaten by the Media and Liberal politicians to take those stricken from those cruise ships. And allow them to return home and self isolate. Because at first they were barred from entry, and then they were told they would have to go to a quarantine center. But the media savaged the Trump admin and made damn fucking sure, those China Virus inflicted people got scattered across America so we could destroy our economy.

Some of us have been paying attention.

As for people worrying about the Cruise Ships, I hope that industry is put out of business, they are danger to humanity, if this is the best we can do with them.

And anyone that would board one of those hospital ships would be a fool. They are designed to treat trauma not microorganisms and communicable diseases.

Same thing. But it doesn’t invalidate what I observed on the streets.

My buddy's wife who is a nurse in a major SFBA hospital said that everybody in their outfit wants to be assigned to the COVID unit. Because IT'S FUCKING EMPTY!
6   Ceffer   2020 Mar 23, 10:24am

James Corbett, who lives in Japan, says there is no panic of any kind. People still go to work as usual, the news isn't 24/24 panic mongering. In urban/surburban Japan, you can't see anything different that points to pandemic. The only visible signs are that they let schools out for an unspecified time. His observation is that the USA is in a psyops panic. Coronavirus is real, but the political and publicity warfare are all managed.

He did say that Japan has an ulterior motive in wanting the Olympics to continue (which probably won't happen), but that just points out that the public perception is manipulated in one way or another.

That's the case in IL or at least West suburban IL. My neighbor is a nurse at an urgent care clinic that they've designated as the CV-19 intake facility for that area. Said it's dead. Empty like you say. Not saying that cannot change.

I don't personally know the person, but one of the deaths in IL worked with a neighbor of mine. Diabetic and other health issues though. And my buddies aunt and uncle in CO both tested positive. Flu like symptoms and they're just resting and hydrating. And they're mid 60's.

Thing is, if this were the flu I would have never heard about any of these people being sick. As Ceffer just said....

Interestingly, the Japanese have bad luck with the Olympics. Tokyo was dropped in 1940 in favor of Finland, and then eventually dropped altogether.

One reason the Japanese might cancel the Olympics is their conception that everything bad comes in from outside and barbarians are filthy. Which, compared to premodern Japan, most of them they really were.

Even with the captive near ideal population of largely aged individuals with a chronic condition, I believe the confirmed cases were only 700 on that ship of thousands of people. And they were traveling for days and quarantined for weeks all together on it. Read somewhere (link unknown) that casual contact transmission is like 1%, and only 10% for people living together.

Correct but if you recall the MSM was really hyping and hoping the Washington state would go pandemic but it didn't. So the sequestered cruise ship passengers went on for three weeks or more after that. And every case was sent home, why didn't they just send all of the cruise ship passengers home when one person on the ship had it, and used the same precautions they used after they sent the 700 infected home?

There was one and only one reason it happened the way it did. Because the Washington cluster was contained and confined to a few old people in a group home.

Have you seen the testing rate for Japan and Korea. Estimates are that the current cases in US are around 10 times more than the official number. In places like New York, our health care system is overburdened. If we had testing kits and could get a feel for the new cases, hospitalization rates etc, we could get a better strategy.

Why would anybody want to get tested, unless they are so ill they need a hospitai?

Treatment in most instances is purely symptomatic, not based on a virus based specific therapy, and testing positive is just fucking yourself in the ass to be stigmatized. The reason that viral illnesses aren't routinely tested is that the symptoms are usually better or gone by the time the testing result is brought back, so no reason to go to the time or expense unless the illness is unusually severe, or monitored for epidemiology purposes.

Best just to nurse your sniffles at home until you are better. Stats are generated from a cross section that contains the most severe cases, so they are not representative. If you test more people, you get a better database, and it would actually improve the apparent profile of the disease entity by showing it to be less lethal, but it will never be perfect. The testing isn't perfect, either, and who has even been able to state the incidence of false positives and false negatives? You rush a bunch of stuff out to market because of a short term demand, do you really think you are going to get reliable mass testing?

The panic isn't generated from rational information, It is generated from lopsided information presented in a disproportionate manner to a public that has lots of fear but no sense of perspective. The goal isn't accuracy or management, its panic, undermining the economy, propaganda and enablement of authoritarian edict.

This idea that everybody should be tested or have testing available is absurd. That simply plays into the panic scenario. If you insist on a Scarlet Letter, great.

Yes, but, some people still drive like crazy ass+%$es. Makes no difference in getting there unless they cause an accident.

Is there ever any instance in which you dont’t parrot the current left wing media talking point?

The lack of tests argument is stupid and only espoused by lying media whores like CNN, MSNB Hee Haw, NY Slimes, etc.

Testing literally every American last week wouldn’t have done one iotta to change the course we are one. Testing every American a month ago wouldn’t have been possible under any circumstance. Like I said, the argument that we don’t have enough tests and it’s the fault of the President is stupid, and so is anyone parroting such an argument.

One of my neighbors got it. He's in Tarzana Medical Center for now. Says he'll be all right, nothing serious so far.

That's all you really needed to say. Tim won't get it, but whatever. CBD is correct too that I think Tim is just trolling left wing shit. There's zero logic behind his comment. Not one administration would have done much different.

I've said it before and will continue to be critical of Trump, is that we know who it's killing. Locking down the entire population and not building heard immunity is pretty stupid. This is why we need age limits at the older range for politicians. People are making decisions based on their feelings for themselves and not what's best for the rest of the country.
