There seem to be ulterior motives here for sure - it's getting more and more obvious. The economy is Trump achilles heel and what better way to bring it down than to sensationalize a virus and hope for the death of America. Despicable. Yes, this is a serious illness, but the jury is still out if it even will come remotely close to flu deaths in the United states. There are a few states that have been hit hard and the hospitals have capacity and gear problems. But many states have a couple hundred at best, ironically the so-hated flyover states are doing remarkably well - maybe those homophobic rednecks finally scored a point to their advantage. I hope the coastal states can overcome this quickly and at least here in the bay area all signs are pointing towards that the shelter-in-place and the closures are working. Most bay area counties had 10 or less new cases for the past 2 days. Don't post horror stories abut single cases, unite instead. Nobody posts horror stories about people dying from the flu. By objective measures Trump did a pretty good job so far, so did the governors of CA and counties, maybe NY and WA waited too long. Except for the slow ramp up in testing which is resolved now things went fairly well and reactions were swift. Surely politicians are crooked on both sides of the aisle, but the biggest hypocrites are those leftoids who less than a few weeks ago were screeching about the bad! orange! raycyst! for closing borders and within a week they completely changed their tune to screeching that not enough was done. There's official data about the number of tests run for each state, and they are in the 10s of thousands capacity-wise. The new 45 minute test will make things easier and it got emergency approved by the FDA. Removing red tape is what we need every day to speed up approvals, manufacturing and deliveries. Government has nothing to do with it, the CDC simply wasn't prepared for this. The stories about funding cuts are mostly lies and haven't affected the pandemic response, in fact FEMA has gotten a lot of resources for it. The problem is when you have very dense population like in NY, then you need to act swiftly. This was de blasios/cuomos error, not Trumps. Newsom acted swiftly and deserves praise as well.
