This guy is a student at the Seminary my Mom attended. He has trouble writing religious papers, but did a complete analysis of all studies and papers on Corona-Virus "for fun" in about an hour. His take: This is not serious, the rate of spread, and number of fatalities are too low. Certainly doesn't hurt to keep an eye out, but everything I've seen so far, especially on Drudge, points to fear-mongering. And people who are afraid can often be convinced to do things they would never normally agree to.

The economic impact however is real, and I don't believe we've seen the worst of that yet. When your economy is built on inflation, even the smallest threat, real or imagined, can bring it crashing down.

Agreed, but that's short-term, a year at most.

In the long term, we should see more repatriation of jobs which were exported to China by treasonous US executives. So I'd bet it's a net positive for the stock market in the 5 year range.

Not happening - three years into the current administration who promised this and the jobs are moving from China to other low cost countries in the region.

Yeah, this is more likely the outcome. I'd like more jobs back here in the states, but by default some of Trump's policies have increased wages here. He's technically making it more difficult to bring back jobs. China can also do whatever they want with their wages and currency. If they see jobs moving they'll just fuck their people over and drop wages.

"All" studies and papers ? One hour no less - divine intervention ? Pence was involved ?

You don't seem to be very familiar with how findings are published. He wasn't reading opinion pieces, and this outbreak is only a month or so old. But I'm sure you can provide some real reasons to panic given your internet PHD.

all those millions of blue sector jobs that have been created since Trump came into office are all completely imaginary
Yeah. That way the now hiring ads never stop.

Temp with hair-trigger, short term churners, benefits are limited.

The temp jobs that didn't last were those created under Obummer - Trump mostly created durable jobs.

Either that or the jobs will go to Mexico. Even though Mexico is a filthy shithole, these types of viruses never seem to come from there.

It's too hot for flu or coronaviruses to originate from Mexico or spread much there.

Even if they went ti Mexico, that would put less pressure on Mexicans to illegally enter the US for jobs.

But wouldn't the Demonrats and leftoids immediately demand all straight white American males to be sacrificed and booted off the hospital to make room for all the sick Illegals crossing the border in search of medical help? Not out of the question.

Very valid point. Sad state though when getting Mexicans jobs in their own country is a positive for us.
