Agreed, but that's short-term, a year at most.
In the long term, we should see more repatriation of jobs which were exported to China by treasonous US executives. So I'd bet it's a net positive for the stock market in the 5 year range.
The economic impact however is real, and I don't believe we've seen the worst of that yet.

Yeah, this is more likely the outcome. I'd like more jobs back here in the states, but by default some of Trump's policies have increased wages here. He's technically making it more difficult to bring back jobs. China can also do whatever they want with their wages and currency. If they see jobs moving they'll just fuck their people over and drop wages.
Not happening - three years into the current administration who promised this and the jobs are moving from China to other low cost countries in the region.

The economic impact however is real, and I don't believe we've seen the worst of that yet. When your economy is built on inflation, even the smallest threat, real or imagined, can bring it crashing down.
