Gotta power the new electric cars somehow...

Seriously, Japan is a country that already has its people living in tiny homes, uses tiny cars, and has excellent mass transit. But those efficiencies do not offset a very high population. If Japan wants to be sustained by renewables, it will need less people drawing energy.

Fortunately, thanks to Japan's smart immigration policies, their population is expected to fall.

Why isn't Greta preaching her bs in Japan?

The main reason for this is nuclear power plant decommissioning. The Japanese people have such a sour taste in their mouths from TEPCO’s disastrous management of the Fukushima disaster.

Intermittent unreliable renewable power is not appropriate to use as base load power. Supercritical coal with the proper emissions controls is a wonderful way to generate base load power.

The problem with coal is not "carbon" emissions. Proper emission control should mean removing sulfur, arsenic compounds, mercury and other heavy metals from the smokestacks. There is also a problem with the tons of toxic coal ash waste.

When I said "emissions" I was referring to those you listed; as ZERO FUCKS GIVEN regarding CO2 emissions...
