:
President Trump told his national security adviser in August that he wanted to continue freezing $391 million in security assistance to Ukraine until officials there helped with investigations into Democrats including the Bidens, according to an unpublished manuscript by the former adviser, John R. Bolton.

The president’s statement as described by Mr. Bolton could undercut a key element of his impeachment defense: that the holdup in aid was separate from Mr. Trump’s requests that Ukraine announce investigations into his perceived enemies, including former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and his son Hunter Biden, who had worked for a Ukrainian energy firm while his father was in office.

I wish that at least a few right wingers on this forum could admit that this is probably true, and that they understand that the impeachment fight is more about helping Trump get acquitted even though he is guilty of this. Instead they lie to themselves and others in a way that only reflects poorly on their character and or reasoning ability.

Lol even if true(it’s not), like you really care.

If it was Obama or Clinton or Biden or insert name of Democrat President here you would be decrying the Republican witch hunt. You may not admit it, but you know it, I know it, everyone here knows it.

The republican witch hunts such as Beghazi, and Hillary's emails had much less real corruption behind them.

If this same thing was happening with Obama, I don't think there is any way that I would deny that Dershoitz et al were trying to get him off the hook of something he really did. Maybe I would somehow think it wasn't that bad. Hard to compare though, becasue everything we know about Trump tells us that he wouldn't have to believe Biden's actions in Ukraine were corrupt to pursue an announcement of an investigation of him being corrupt. The man has a well known history.

Or if it was Obama and I believed he didn't do it, I would want the white house to produce the documents and witnesses to make fools out of the opposition. Those would be the only two possibilities for me.

Yes, I know this for sure.

His book was leaked to the New York Shit Paper.

According to people who have read the book, Sun Tsu Trump used Bolton like a fiddle.

He brought him on when he was strong arming Iran, North Korea, and of course China. Bringing him on board scared the fuck out of those countries. He also did it to keep Bolton close to the Admin and not outside of it, pushing war and criticizing attempts at negotiation.

When he was no longer needed, he was dumped.

Trump used Bolton as mentioned above. It was for a “good cop/bad cop” tactic with our adversaries.

Kissinger and Nixon did this too years ago. I think Nixon was the “bad cop” when Kissinger was negotiating something.

Nobody likes Bolton, he’s full of shit, just another attention seeking clown, hoping to profit from a brief association with Trump.

I still think Omarosa's memoir was much more damaging.
