Twenty children and 11 adults are injured after Delta Boeing 777 dumps "jet fuel" on elementary school playground during emergency landing at LAX.

Shocking video shows two lines of fuel coming from the jet Tuesday afternoon

LA county fire department said 44 children and adults suffered minor injuries

Children at Park Avenue Elementary School in Cudahy were affected by fuel

Exposure was also reported at Tweedy, Graham and San Gabriel Elementaries

The plane was travelling to Shangai when it was forced to turn back

Images from the scene show the huge response from emergency crews

A Delta spokesman told DailyMail.com the jet 'experienced an engine issue'

That area would be the perfect place to resume above ground nuclear weapons tests.

Jet fuel is not that toxic - people feel sick because lawyers, I think

Nobody suffered an injury. Those beaners get more petroleum product on themselves every time they gas up a lawn mower or leaf blower. However, they just may, in fact, have hit the beaner lottery. Hey, just act sick, cry, and evaluate the lawyers that are going to line up!

Isn't Avgas just very high octane gasoline?

yes, so it is similar to dousing yourself with gas or kerosene. unless you smoke or are close to open flame nothing will happen.

777 uses jet fuel. Which is close to diesel than to gas.

PS. Fun fact: avgas is still leaded.

Even if you smoke jet fuel would not ignite in most cases. (Don't try it at home, kids!)

Yes, but AvGas (like 100 Low Lead) is not used in jets, only piston powered planes like a Cessna. Airliners use "Jet A" which is basically low volatile kerosene. Jets do not need high octane.

Yes, you can put out a cigarette in jet fuel. I have seen that demonstrated using a pail with JP8.

Type of chemical composition is the same. Mix of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, only with higher boiling point (=more C atoms per molecule). Other than benzene, one has to try really hard to poison themselves.

Also, jet fuel does not contain lead additives AFAIK. Lead is present in piston engine aircraft fuel tho: https://www.faa.gov/news/fact_sheets/news_story.cfm?newsId=14754

This is exactly what I said. Avgas has lead. Jet fuel doesn't. Because no valves in jet engines. ;)

The crying and hysterionics about "poisoning" would've been somewhat justified if the fuel dumped was avgas. With jet fuel it's just bullshit.

Jet fuel is basically kerosene, which is pretty nasty stuff. It's not quite as volatile as gasoline or avgas, but is more volatile than diesel. The California Air Resources Board should be apoplectic over this. How long would it take a push lawnmower to generate this much unburned hydrocarbon emissions?

This just goes to show their true agenda. Total control over the little people. SCAQMD, CALEPA, and the regional water quality board should be up in arms as well, if it was a TRUE public safety threat. But again,....

Also known as fucking lamp gas. Nothing especially "nasty" about it. Widely used for heating, cooking and cleaning in the home countries of the Indians pictured above.Yes, you'll get harmed ingesting it or breathing it for many days on a job. One-time exposure is nothing.
