They say we don't need police. If we had true equality, there would be zero crime and thus no need for police.

Yahoo is posting one-sentence articles now? What's next: one-word articles? One-letter books?
2   HeadSet   2019 Dec 31, 9:42pm

With no police, who would arrest the people who do not accept AGW and pedophilia?

Seriously, one good inner city electrical black out would show the need for police.
3   BayArea   2019 Dec 31, 9:56pm

Without police, the ghetto would come to kill you.

Good point, but I was referring to the extreme looting that occurred during that famous NYC blackout.

https://www.nytimes.com/2003/08/15/us/blackout-2003-past-blackouts-65-77-became-defining-moments-city-s-history.html

"There was, before yesterday, the good blackout and the bad blackout: the 15-hour power loss beginning on the evening of Nov. 9, 1965, that was largely characterized by cooperation and overriding good cheer and the 25-hour one beginning on the sticky night of July 13, 1977, that was defined by widespread looting and arson in the city's poorer neighborhoods."

Hahaha lol hahaha!!!

They took their own bullshit stupidity to extreme, too funny.
8   RWSGFY   2020 Jan 1, 9:43am

If they abolish the police we'll form militias. I guarantee you, Prop 47 and other similar bullshit will not be honored.

Limousine liberals
Of whom Mayor John LIndsay was chief. A RINO if there ever was one, became mayor in 1966 while New York was still a halfway decent place. He hated people of his white, upper class heritage, became a democrat and during his mayoralty through 1973 turned New York into the hell hole that existed until Rudy Giuliani turned things around. It was on Lindsay's watch that whole neighborhoods burned down while the police and fire departments did nothing because it would be discriminatory to react. He moved to Florida where he died of Parkinson's disease and was forever dismayed that there remained such a shadow over his tenure.

That's because the Police in districts they stole elections from, wont stop fucking investigating and arresting them.

Liberals will do what every it fucking takes to win power, and to keep it. Even create hell on earth, so they don't get arrested.

No, not anymore than the poop piles that permeate SF somehow do not end up in in the leaders neighborhoods. The Limo Libs will have Police by another name protecting them, using guns only they will be allowed to own.

You are in denial.

They want peaceworkers, mediators, and the "redirection of resources" so that they don't "need" to commit crime. Jails and punishment for crimes are "illegitimate".

https://www.city-journal.org/abolish-police-call-to-action

The latest call to action from some criminal-justice activists: “Abolish the police.” From the streets of Chicago to the city council of Seattle, and in the pages of academic journals ranging from the Cardozo Law Review to the Harvard Law Review and of mainstream publications from the Boston Review to Rolling Stone, advocates and activists are building a case not just to reform policing—viewed as an oppressive, violent, and racist institution—but to do away with it altogether. When I first heard this slogan, I assumed that it was a figure of speech, used to legitimize more expansive criminal-justice reform. But after reading the academic and activist literature, I realized that “abolish the police” is a concrete policy goal. The abolitionists want to dismantle municipal police departments and see “police officers disappearing from the streets.”

http://cardozolawreview.com/are-police-obsolete-police-abolition/

Until now, that project has set its sights on abolishing the death penalty and mass incarceration. This Article is the first in legal scholarship to seriously imagine abolishing criminal law enforcement as we know it within that larger democratic-abolitionist framework; rather than a negative vision of abolition (i.e. fire all cops), we support the creation of new non-police institutions empowered to supersede the police monopoly on violence reduction. In so doing, we reflect on the structural engines behind the cycles of violence that police are exclusively empowered to combat, and highlight and analyze the parallel work of non-state actors in breaking those cycles. From epidemiologists to community activists to incarcerated individuals, numerous democratic-abolitionist institutions dependent on the non-involvement of the police have taken root in violence-prone communities. Such initiatives hold the potential to empower communities to police themselves. With institutional support from scholars, activists, and policymakers, non-police anti-violence workers can make police obsolete.

Levels of violent crime may be declining generally, but shootings related to gang feuds, police interventions, and illicit economies continue to bring suffering to some of the most vulnerable and marginalized communities in the country—communities where Black and Brown youth become indoctrinated into a culture of violence at a young age, often by the very police officers charged with protecting them. Incarceration is expected of the young people growing up in these communities, and we have discussed throughout this Article the ways in which the logic underlying the mass incarceration apparatus has its roots in racism. Imprisonment and punishment, then, is not only an ineffective way to reduce violence; it is illegitimate.

They also have a problem with the big bawd Twump Dehumanizing the poor MS-13 gang members:

But this hierarchy of violence is embedded with a long history of racist beliefs in White supremacy and Black and Brown immorality or amorality dating back to the era of slavery and European colonial conquest.24 It is not uncommon to hear people who have been convicted of violent crimes referred to as “animals” or “super-predators,”25 evoking images of lawless, subhuman people of color threatening the safety and stability of middle-class life. President Donald Trump espoused this view in a speech to law enforcement officials, urging them to be “rough” with people suspected of criminal activity. Speaking of Mexican and Central American immigrants presumed to belong to the MS-13 gang, Trump expounded:

"They butcher those little girls. They kidnap, they extort, they rape and they rob. They prey on children. They shouldn’t be here. They stomp on their victims. They beat them with clubs. They slash them with machetes, and they stab them with knives. They have transformed peaceful parks and beautiful, quiet neighborhoods into bloodstained killing fields. They’re animals."

Comparing a racially coded group of human beings to animals is dehumanizing, and dehumanization has observable consequences

Numerous psychological studies have linked the dehumanization of Black people with increased estimates of Black children’s ages and criminal culpability; dehumanization ...

Apparently the ms-13 thugs should be given loving hugs and free resources. After all, we made them do it, right?

btw, notice a wee bit of bias in the last passage? They love to rag on Trump, and they complain about the whole "super-predator" label a lot, but never mention the fact that their super-Clinton was the one who said it.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/01/us/oakland-laptop-thief-starbucks-trnd/index.html

The man, whose name has not been released, was at a Starbucks on Mountain Boulevard in Oakland, California, on the morning of New Year's Eve, according to statements from the Oakland Police Department.

While he was working, the suspect approached him around 11:30 a.m., grabbed his laptop and ran, the statement said.

The man rushed after the thief in an attempt to retrieve his computer but suffered a critical head injury as the suspect fled in a car, the police told CNN.

Oh good, when we don't have police we won't have to worry about these things...

THe fact that there are full fledged marxists on the left is not shocking.

What's shocking is when right wingers generalize what a marxist says to all people on the left and moderate left.

Hell, when I was a kid, several decades ago, half the republicans in both houses of congress were to the left of half the the democrats tn congress today, (seriously!) and you guys still keep trying to paint liberals as communists. Yes, San Francisco is fruit loops nutty. That doesn't generalize to all or most democrats.
21   Ceffer   2020 Jan 1, 5:59pm

What they are doing is trying to recruit the criminals and psychopathic echelons to disempower the population below the LibbyFuck Royalty level. The LibbyFuck Central Planning Royals can afford their own security, and would much rather use the tax largesses to purchase influence and maintain avenues of patronage and corruption.

What the ordinary citizen will be left with is street level thuggery and tribal warfare. It's already happening in the bankrupt carcass cities in California like Stockton and San Bernardino, where you pretty much have to hire your own security if you want any. The bankruptcy resolutions were mostly geared toward preserving the perks baked into the pension system and public employee union advantages, not public services.

They are just coming out as the apex predators that they are, and the citizenry are the prey.

Interesting historical perspective. Now what decade are you talking about, and which Republicans were to the left of sanctuary cities, clamping down on gun rights, pro gay marriage, pro-welfare, and anti-cop? And how many of theses long ago Republicans would approve of a protected status for "more than 2 genders." drivers's licenses for illegals, and unfettered illegal immigration in the first place? In fact, today's Republican's are further left than even the Dems of old on matters such as accepting gay marriage and pot legalization.

Except when they protect the criminals and sue you and prosecute you for defending yourself, which is the way it is going. If you could make up your own protection and punish/dissuade the criminals at the time they commit the acts, that would be one thing. But when you do that, and the criminal has rights and exemptions but you don't, it is quite another. They are abdicating the protection of citizens and their property rights, while going after citizens for protecting themselves. AND they want to remove anything that allows citizens either to protect themselves or mount a true protest.

Are people too dumb to see that the exemptions are accelerating? Ummm, yeah, they are. The authorities tell you you have to give over all means of force and punishment to the state, and then they will protect you, but instead stop protecting you while giving free rein to the criminals and dregs but continue to punish you for taking back the means of protecting yourself that you gave up. That's called a perfectly cowed subject people.

They are abdicating the protection of citizens and their property rights, while going after citizens for protecting themselves.

This is like in England. House brake-ins were rampant when I lived in England during the 90's, and the laws were such that a homeowner could face jail time for confronting a burglar. If fact, the town I was residing in had a court case where the burglar killed the owner who tried to chase the burglar off with a stick. The judge ruled that the murder was self defense, and that burglars need to be protected from violent homeowners.

....

True very often, unfortunately. Having said that, my Great State is reasonable about this and as one of our left-wing idiot politician Sheila Jackson-Lee said after homeowner gunned down 2 burglars "since all juries in Texas will acquit homeowners in cases like this, we need to change laws"...
28   Ceffer   2020 Jan 1, 11:12pm

Using the usual 180 degree reasoning, you can see that Sanctuary Status is the creation of free enterprise zones for criminals. California shakes down real business and industry with taxes, regulations, delays etc., but generates a condition that allows the cartels to thrive?

Hmm, why could that possibly be? Compassion and allowing worthy, humble immigrants a chance at a better life? Nyet. That’s just the altruistic cover story for the deluded idiopolous. Certainly, a side effect is diluting the voter pool with foolish people who take handouts for a vote and serving the Globalist agenda by undermining American nationality. The concept of ‘cheap labor’ seems to be countered by an ever growing, intransigent welfare population. We have lots of people already who CAN work but don’t have too.

Also, the politicians likely receive guarantees that the vote will be brought in, just like the mafia gave the election to JFK by bringing in the Illinois vote.

The cartels have seen that the politicians are for sale for lobbying/re-election dollars, and they certainly lobby for their own interests to lift prosecution wholesale, with the illegal alien compassion thing as a duck blind. It’s the penetration of Mexican corrupt practices into California with politicians on board.
Frustrating the effectiveness of police and demoralizing both the police and the population are part of the plan.

The three most profitable things in the world are oil/resources, arms and drugs. The intelligence agencies engage in their own covert opium wars. Their assumption is that interdiction and prohibition don’t work, which is correct, and that addiction can even be weaponized against populations, including your own. They don’t want all of that money flowing into somebody else’s hands, so the pragmatic solution is to control the trade as much as possible and steer the money back home rather than with potential incendiaries abroad.

As usual with the 180 degree reveal, is that “anti-drug” laws are for the purpose of justifying selective prosecution and armed action against competitors and pawns, not to prevent the trade overall. The drug laws were used against many of the CIA allies who provided their transportation infrastructure. CIA officers cannot be arrested or called upon to testify under oath, but their helpers and sub agents could. Those who tried to blow the whistle were either killed, or prosecuted under the drug laws and jailed. One of the CIA's pilots said he was circling low over an air field, and saw a CIA officer shoot one of his friends in the head and drag the body into the jungle. He survived, but was prosecuted and jailed, at the behest of the very agents he worked for.

Clinton, arguably the most liberal President of the past 40 years. increased police numbers significantly.

Actions of liberals speak louder than words of a few neomarxists.

But those individuals do have a point about excessive incarceration of blacks for small crimes such as possession of drugs. I wouldn't be for lowering the number of cops, but quality control of training, and hiring would be great. Probably also a lot of room for reforms and evolution or modernization in the way things are done.
