Surveillance footage showing the outside of alleged child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s jail cell the night he first tried to commit suicide is missing, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Epstein was arrested in July and died in an apparent suicide while awaiting trial in a Manhattan jail. The circumstances surrounding his death have been scrutinized, and multiple issues have been reported surrounding the Metropolitan Correctional Center, the jail where Epstein was being held at the time of his death.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Swergold confirmed Wednesday that the footage was missing from Epstien’s first suicide attempt in July, and there appears to be no copy, according to the New York Daily News. The news was shared during a White Plains District Court hearing.

The government was asked to look into the incident at the request of Judge Kenneth Karas, the NY Daily News reported.

News of the missing footage was revealed during Nick Tartaglione’s hearing. Tartaglione, a former police officer, is accused of a quadruple homicide and faces the death penalty. This footage was important to his case because it could have spoken to Tartaglione’s character.

The former police officer allegedly helped save Epstein’s life during the first suicide attempt July. The two were cellmates and Epstein reportedly said Tartaglione attacked him, according to the NY Daily News.

“It is on the surface troubling,” Tartaglione’s lawyer Bruce Barket said. “I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve found out more details.”

Epstein died in an apparent suicide Aug. 10. Two jail employees were charged in November with falsifying records and neglecting duties during the night Epstein died.

Oh, well, the government is on the case. I'll sleep well tonight knowing that.

It's like when they say some case has been turned over to the FBI, it reminds me of that scene from the movie Fletch where Chase's character is about to be shot by the antagonist and the crooked cop shows up. "Thank God, the.. police"

FBI? "Thank God, it's the Deep State Publicity and Spin Department. Only the evidence that's fit to manipulate the public."

Another lovely irony that it is a crime to lie to an institution that lies for a living.

How did Jeffrey Epstein, a man with no connections, no college degree nor special genius for numbers, land this gig? It’s strange. Which is why so many conspiracy theorists focus on it. You can’t help but notice the coincidences. For example, Dalton’s headmaster at the time, the man ultimately responsible for the hire, was a former OSS agent and science fiction writer named Donald Barr who had a young son, Bill, who would, decades later, head the U.S. Justice Department in the Trump Administration, in which position he’d help clear Trump from charges of conspiring with Russia, walk Trump through impeachment, and oversee the investigation into the death of Jeffrey Epstein.

OK, that's pretty damn weird.

The guy who first hired Epstein to be a teacher at an elite school was Bill Barr's father.

More weirdness:

Epstein was arrested in Florida in 2006. A mother of one of the abused girls had gone to the Palm Beach police and made a complaint. She said her fourteen-year-old stepdaughter was taken to Epstein’s mansion by an older girl and paid three hundred dollars to strip to her underwear and give Epstein a massage. There was an FBI investigation, at the end of which Epstein was arrested, though the agents probably did not understand just who they were arresting, or who and what the accused knew. After pleading to reduced charges (procuring an underage girl for prostitution, soliciting prostitution) Epstein was sentenced to eighteen months in prison. For most of that time, he was allowed to leave the facility on “work release” for twelve hours a day, six days a week. The deal was negotiated by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Alexander Acosta, who went on to serve as Secretary of Labor in the Trump Administration. Asked to explain why he’d gone so easy on Epstein, Acosta said he’d been told by a higher-up that Epstein “belonged to intelligence,” that anything involving Epstein was above Acosta’s “pay grade.”

He could have been a guy getting paid $150k per year, but had a government budget of millions to spend? Which government who knows.

Maybe was grandfathered in, but how do you purchase an island in a US territory (I know other countries allow this and so did the US), and put rocks on the shore to avoid public access because of the high water mark? Build weird temples on it. Put a bunch of non-native trees on it. You're dead and you still have security at the dock the two times I've been by. Boats docked there. Who is paying for all that? Whoever is in charge of the estate? This last one is the big question.

I suppose Rockefeller I believe owned like 70% of St. John before he donated it to the NP system, which is fucking insane to be possible. I think once you hit 9 figures of wealth you are the government. You're generally immune to petty crimes. And those that get caught, generally only get caught doing victimless crimes, like the Patriots owner getting a rub and tug in FL. They all have pawns to do the true dirty work for them.
