They consider themselves the elite, with a mission to "educate" us deplorables about the joys of sodomy.

Thanks for showing what you meant, becasue it certainly wasn't clear from your interpretation.

So it's actually all about the ways in which parents can screen the content that kids age 8 to 12 will see. Parents can allow children to have access to that content if they so choose. THat is, parents select which of those on the left will be included. This determines what can come up on a child's search, it's not promoting anything.

So in other words what seems to be bothering you is that youtube is not forcing all kids to not see that content, and they are giving parents the option when setting up their child's online experience to allow or disallow certain content.

Seems fair to me. Meanwhile - at school children automatically don't have access to youtube on their tablets, if their school has computers for the kids that is.

What I see is that there are people out there that want to make content that they believe is age appropriate for children in that age range exploring "non-conforming gender" issues - such as "what does gay mean." Youtube decided, "okay but we're going to give parents the option of excluding this. "
