The two-year-old murder of a journalist is heaping unprecedented pressure on Malta's government.

Daphne Caruana Galizia relentlessly investigated corruption, which she alleged ran deep into her country's politics, before she was killed by a car bomb close to her home in October 2017.

Three people are awaiting trial for her murder but the police investigation is now focusing on who ordered the killing and why.

An alleged middleman has already been granted immunity in exchange for evidence and now a high-profile businessman has sought a pardon after implicating the prime minister's right-hand man.

The story began with a deadly attack but two years later it has led to ministers stepping down and pressure on the prime minister himself as protesters take to the streets.

Now THAT was a real journalist. Not like the paid-off partisan whores we have pretending to be journalists in this country.
