Pretty sure one of the employees that got canned was...... drum roll............ black. So like Chicago, just another example of more black on black hate crime.

This is near my neck of the woods. With it gaining national attention, rumor can spread quickly and I also know quite a few people that would catch wind of what actually went down. Again, this is 2nd hand info, but trusted sources. The person that asked for them to move did so because it was a large group with 13 of them being children and 5 adults. Had nothing to do with race. Had more to do with trying to enjoy a meal and not sitting next to a ton of flipping kids.

The group, in that moment insinuated that they were being asked to move because of race without knowing if that was the case. BWW was between a rock and a hard place the moment the group made it about race. Fight a group of 18 blacks that it wasn't actually about them being black? Or fold and just can two token employees they can replace tomorrow and go on an apology tour.

I know this will get twisted as racist, but this is purely a business and economic perspective. Blacks are a higher percentage of BWW's customers compared to other fast casual dining places. They had waaaayyyyyy more to lose by fighting the claim by having blacks boycott nation wide. So they just folded, did training that they were already scheduled to be doing and got this out of the news cycle as fast as possible. This was the correct PR move on their part.

Also money and lawsuits speak volumes and to date, I don't believe the group has filed anything against BWW's. In a litigious society such as ours, that speaks volumes. They likely did get some back door settlement to help move this along too. All because they "thought" they were being discriminated against by being asked to move. We'll see who tries to shred this account apart here.

Is “racism” the most devalued word in the past decade?

The article you linked states the two employees told the group the dude was racist. After that what was the group supposed to think?

According to the report, the group was already seated when a server and a greeter told them that the man and woman 'œdid not want to sit next to them because the couple was racist.

They totally deserve their termination.
