A coalition of civil rights groups on Tuesday sent a letter to the University of California threatening to sue the university system if it continues to require either the SAT or the ACT for admissions. (The university uses both exams.)

"Research demonstrates that the SAT and ACT systematically prevent talented and qualified students with less accumulated advantage -- including students with less wealth, students with disabilities, and underrepresented minority students -- from accessing higher education at the University of California," the letter said. The letter goes on to says that the tests produce "meaningless results."
...
"The fact that SAT and ACT scores measure socioeconomic status and race -- rather than ability or mastery of curriculum -- results in part from biases built into the development of the exams themselves."
...
“Use of the SAT/ACT is not merely bad policy; it violates the California Constitution and antidiscrimination statutes, and is therefore legally and morally impermissible."

The letter notes that California law bars racial discrimination and says that will be the basis of a lawsuit if the Board of Regents doesn't stop requiring the SAT or ACT.

Does "qualified students with less accumulated advantage" include poor Asian students who score high on the SATs?

The progressives have also hijacked the SAT and ACT. They have bastardized the tests to a shadow of their former selves. They are in the process of doing the same thing to all the AP tests as well. The AP Physics 1 test is now a complete abomination. It doesn't matter though. Every test, from the LSAT to the Firemarshall's exam...the order of achievement will always be Asian, White, Hispanic, Black

I have no idea. But scoring high on the SAT is ray cist in itself so the answer is probably "no".

The disastrous results of the beliefs and polices of the libs are becoming more and more obvious.

Letting in all illegals means we have to pay for the healthcare of non-citizens. Which brings in more illiterate Indians which means we have to dumb down board scores because RACISM. What race, you may ask? Well, you know, folks who are "people of color." But why are their countries shitholes? See RACISM. But why is Obama black, but Mexican mestizos not Indians? And why do US Indians need to show proof of being on a tribal register, but Spanish Indians don't? See RUSSIAN COLLUSION.

If college classrooms aren't full of disruptive spawn of the idiocracy, screaming, running around, arriving late, threatening teachers, back talking, showing attitude, and shopping online for bling and music with their phones and ipads, then freedom has no meaning.

If they manage to get out of California public high school with LibbyFuck manufactured delusional history, philosophy, brainwashing and what used to be a sixth grade education, they are lucky. What makes them think they will be able to handle a university class load? A lot of them actually graduate from high school functionally illiterate. The schools pushed them along with a gold star just to get rid of them.

Diversity is racing to the bottom and dragging us all with it.
